Yellow/blue streaks pictures

Has anyone had this issue when taking pictures you get these yellow and blue streaks on some of your pictures? If so how was this fixed?

I recently got an iPhone XR from AT&T (2 months ago) and started noticing the issue after I take a picture. Before you take a picture everything looks great until you take the picture is when I noticed all these lines on most of my pictures.

I spoke with Apple tech support on 10/4 and they advised that I take my phone in to an Apple store for a tech to take a look at. 10/5 I walk in to my appointment to have my iPhone XR checked out and they recommended to replace the camera and so they did to fix the issue. At the store I didn’t notice any issues until later that night when I want to go have dinner at a restaurant and when I got home. I called Apple tech support again for yet another appointment. 10/11 I walk in to my appointment they recommend that it’s possibly a hardware issue so they would replace my iPhone XR at no charge to me. So I thought great that’s no problem. All weekend I didn’t have a chance to play with the camera until yesterday when I noticed the lines again!!

My IPhone 6S Plus doesn’t have these issues at all so I know my iPhone XR should not take pictures like this. It’s getting annoying have this happen very often.

How can I fix this or what can I do at this point ?

I am simply taking pictures for the native camera app with no filters applied, I don’t use any other 3rd party camera apps, I don’t have a case that covers the camera at all, the lens is clean and not smudged, never dropped the iPhone on the camera or anything.

That’s awesome!! Thank you figuring out a workaround! I’m and very happy to have these streaks removed.

On my camera I didn’t have the HDR option at the top but I did end up going to:

Settings > Camera & toggles off Smart HDR. This option turned on always used Smart HDR, so once it’s turned off, on your Camera you’ll be able to turn off HDR.

Same here. A lot of my pictures have those yellow/blue lines. It’s so annoying...Apple really need to fix this NOW. I have this problem since I update to iOS 13 BETA and is so weird that they hadn’t fix it after 5 months. 5 months is a lot and the worst is whenever I go to the Apple store and tell them the problem, they say I have to wait for the “next update” IOS 13.3 is out and the problem is not solved. I am really wondering how long do we have to wait...one year or would they even fixed? I am so disappointed with this.

The wipe doesn’t work or at least didn’t for me which leads me to believe that it’s in the software and they didn’t fix it. It didn’t happen to me until the iOS 13 so how could it be the camera? Plus it would happen on every picture not just some of them. I have HDR turned on but I also have save original - it is only on the HDR photos. At least on my XR it is.

This gets more and more frustrating!! Really Apple? How many people have to reset their phones, have cameras replaced, phones replaced, before they realize its totally software they need to fix. The so-called "work around" only lowers the number of times it happens, but it still happens! Ruining thousands (if not more) of their users images. I for one will not even bother going to a Genius bar until they admit to everyone it's a software issue they need to fix. I turned my HDR off in the camera app just to see, took one shot, and immediately the first photo was heavy with yellow and blue stripes!! Turn it off again and took same shot. No lines. But it still happens, just not as often. I think thats worse!! No telling when it will ruin a photo. You can't get some of those moments back. This needs addressed immediately!

Apple, you have growing number of upset customers, please pay attention and do something!!

The fact this issue has been highlighted on this thread on 15th October 2019 and now, 95 days later or three months and three days later, Apple have still failed to address this is completely unacceptable. The only way around this issue, is as some have mentioned above, turn off HDR features.

I purchased my iPhone XR because of the HDR features and use it primarily for the camera. This problem means that I am now not able to use this device as expected as Apple have failed to address this problem in a timely manner. I have dozens of images which are scored with these dreadful lines, which as far as we can tell, is not fixable.

Luckily, I purchased my handset using a credit card here in the UK. Which means I now have no other option but to submit a section 75 charge back request on account of the fact that this product is simply not fit for purpose.

It is a real shame that Apple are not willing, to rectify this issue with a simple software update.

We are having the exact same issue with both our XRs. Been onto phone help, went through the whole, restart, update, reinstall routine. We’ve been to the ‘Genius’ Bar today. One of the phones they won’t even entertain looking at as there’s a scratch on the camera and say that could’ve caused the fault(!) even though we had another phone with the same issue and no scratch. So frustrating that they won’t accept it’s a known error. Has anyone tried requesting a refund successfully?

Well done for contacting Apple via Twitter. I have just done the same.

This issue is completely unacceptable, I contacted the retailer I purchased my handset through yesterday and explained that I will be sending this product back for a full refund as it simply doesn't do what it is supposed to.

I am really disappointed in Apple. There are no excuses to have left this to linger. I am so upset at the amount of images ruined by this floor.

Just been onto Tech Support again. Again, they claim no knowledge of the issue and say we aren’t entitled to a refund as we didn’t raise the issue within 30 days of purchase. They basically offered to either take in for a service via mail in or take to store again. Had to explain that Genius Bar refused to deal with one of our phones due to a a scratch on the lens cover (which could’ve caused it! Apparently) . Basically stuck with 2 phones that don’t do the job they are meant to do. Not impressed right now. Will see what they say in store tomorrow.
