Can't sign in with my Apple ID on Catalina Music app
When I open the Apple Music app on Mac OS Catalina It tells me to sign in and when i sign in it doesn't do anything. Literally anything.

This was sent too me from the Forum, option 2 worked for me.
Solution #1: crate another Admin-account. Don't sign in to iCloud at setup. After setup, sign in to the apps (Music, tv, Podcasts, Books) what should happen without an issue. Then connect to iCloud via system settings.
Solution #2: via Terminal commands that reset iCloud. After that sign in to the apps (Music, tv, Podcasts, Books) what should happen without an issue. Then connect to iCloud via system settings.
Terminal commands like I did with help from the Apple support team:
After the first command (sudo -v) you have to type your password - blind - then hit enter and proceed.
This worked for me too. Yes, Apple needs to remedy ASAP. They could also fix the issue of my MacBook Pro not providing the pop-up window to log into public wifi points.

This worked for me as well. I did another fresh install of 10.15.1, this time skipping the sign in with iCloud during setup, and I was able to successfully login to the Music and TV apps.
Not sure if it's relevant, but when I did successfully sign in to the Music app it came up with a notice that it had to switch stores to Canada, so it looks like for whatever reason it was set to a different region by default even though my system is set to Canada.

If you update the Mac from lower version to Catalina, it works fine.
If you recover to Catalina or the Mac never signed in before, you will meet this question.
Sadly, I updated my Mac to Catalina 10.15, the Music worked fine. But I met a problem while updating to 10.15.1, I had to recover, then I had this question till now, even I have spent a lot of time with Apple support. I think they can do nothing till the new update.
Same here, (unknown error (11556) code, spoke with tech support they are aware but he advised I just have to wait for it to become visible on apples radar before a fix too be pushed. Music, Podcast, TV. Apples old saying it just works doesn't appear to be a great slogan anymore.
No issue though on MacBook, iPad or iPhone just my Mac, very frustrating.
I have the same issue. I have an early 2015 MacBook Pro with Retina. I can log into iCloud just fine, but when I try to log into Music, Podcasts, or AppleTV, nothing happens. The computer appears to be signing in (the spinning circle occurs while waiting to sign in), but then nothing. The spinning circle ends (indicating a completed process), but I am not signed in. Within Settings, under Apple ID, Media and Purchases is grayed out (not signed in), but I am signed into iCloud. Frustrating.
Thanks! Solution #2 worked! I hope this gets resolved permanently in the next update to Catalina. I had tried solution #1, but realized after the fact that I had created a standard account vice an admin account.

Apple support said "known issue affecting a number of users" when asked how many, the reply was "in the three figures range"
Also told that I would have to wait for a fix. In the meantime if I wanted to listen to music or watch Apple TV+ I have to login to the newly created user which is not affected by this bug.
i am having the same issue but no luck. I called the apple support yesterday and they said they know about this issue and they will fix it eventually but there’s nothing to do for now.

Same Problem here. After upgrading to CATALINA, I can not sign in to Music, Apple TV and so on. I I try to, nothing happens and it keeps on prompting the Apple-Music-Ad.
Also in the same situation. Cannot log in via Music, Podcasts, or TV. Very irritating.
Were you able to fix the issue on your iMac? How did Apple Support helped?
