iPhone 11 pro max and Harley Davidson CarPlay Audio

the phone call feature does not work when you connect the iPhone 11 pro max to the Harley Davidson system through original iPhone cable. All other features work including music, maps, WhatsApp, text etc. Only audio calls do not work with the wireless Bluetooth Sena headset.

Older phone models with iOS13 work just fine.

I called Apple again today and as usual they treated it like its the first time they heard about the problem. I escalated it this time there supposed to get back to me with in 4 days I won't hold my breath. Its absolutely obvious that the problem is the iPhone 11 and I spelled out for the third time everything I had done to isolate the audio problem. The Apple rep actually told me Harley Davidson didn't show up on the list of supported vehicles so it was not supported!! She escalated it anyways since I would not take that answer. I wish Harley Didn't lock you into Apple Car Play I would toss my I phone 11 in the trash and get an Andriod.

I got a call from Apple support yesterday, spent about an hour testing, resetting pretty much doing everything I had already done and of course nothing they asked me to do fixed the problem. What concerns me the most is that the Apple Rep made it sound like they haven't really done anything on this yet, I got the impression no one was really working on it. There supposed to email me after they provide the results of our testing. I have a feeling Apple is jerking us all around on this.

About the same situation I had trying to get the issue resolved. They copied diagnostics from my phone, sent photos of the GTS settings and also did much of the same with HD customer service. I did read today that Android systems will be able to connect next year and possibly as early as this summer. Still hoping for a fix to this issue that we have had for almost 6 months now. I definately would have waited to upgrade from my 6s to the 11 if I had known it would not work right with the system. Still puzzles me that it works fine in our 2019 Jeep Cherokee. I even offered to be a beta tester if they have a fix. I also asked the Harley Rep. why can’t HD borrow or obtain an iPhone 11 and figure the problem out.

I did the same again on Friday, I even escalated it through Sprint since I bought my iPhone from them I was told I would hear back from someone from support on Sunday and never heard from anyone. I just don't think they give a **** about Car Play not working correctly on our Harley's were to small a group for them to give a ****. Harley needs to provide an upgrade on the Boom Box to allow Android Auto to function so we can toss these Iphones in the dumpster where they belong.

I got another email from them today saying they are trying to reach me when I finally get a hold of someone they don't seem to know who was trying to reach me. This is a joke I got someone to tell me that the Engineers responded stating they are aware and that several others are reporting the same issue and they are looking into it but no eta on fixes or updates. I am in the support business myself if we provided support like this we wouldn't have any customers left. Can anyone can android auto!!

No fix, just tried it and same issue everything works fine but no audio when I use the phone on Car Play. I can make a call using Car Play no audio, unplug the phone from the bike while still on the call it switches to blue tooth I have audio. I guess they just don't give **** about us Harley Owners. Good news Harley is coming out with an update that will allow Android Auto to work on the Boom Box GTS this summer so were not stuck using iPhone anymore.

I have a 2014 FLHTK. I put in the Boom! Box GTS. I have the iPhone 11 Pro Max. I had the non-HD 20S and SPH10. Both did what everyone here is complaining about. Yesterday I received the Boom! Audio Expand Bluetooth Half Helmet Headset and everything works perfectly with it. I can call, voice text, talk to Siri, etc. ...and if I use my phone, people can hear me. I ordered the Boom! Audio 30K and hoping for the same result.

I must assume that you are just connecting via Bluetooth to the system. Plug the phone into the usb. Connector and then make sure that CarPlay is in fact enabled and working and try again to make a phone call thru car play app.

My guess is that you are not making the call thru the CarPlay app because they have not resolved the issue yet. That is my suspicion since this is a new system for you.

please report your findings After ensuring that you were able to make the call THRU the CarPlay screen.

So I've done EVERYTHING that's been posted here. I've spent months and probably 15 calls to Apple. They've "elevated" the call several times, recorded my phone's data, had me reset to factory (several times), change every setting in the phone... all to no avail. Every time I call, I had to start all over and finally gave up. It's quite clear Apple doesn't care about us. One minute I call, they're "working on it." Next time I call, they've not heard of the problem. Trying to reach them is a nightmare and it's just as bad once you reach them. I wish I still had my iPhone 7, which worked perfectly. I started calling about 7 or 8 months ago and neither Verizon or Apple gives a crap I have a sub par product.

I have spoken with Harley several times about it. They just told me they don’t manufacture the Boom Box GTS and that it’s an Apple problem there just stuck in the middle. Which is certainly not supporting their customers. I even escalated to Sena since they manufacture the Whim and my 20s evo and tried to escalate to Harmon Carden and never got a response. It’s been 6 months and it doesn’t appear we’re any closer.

I have complained to Apple several times and Harley Davidson as well its just going nowhere. I have had the problem for 7 months now and not only is there no fix they wont even give an ETA on one. I have no idea what there doing very disappointed in Apple, Harley is releasing Android Auto this year from the Boom Box GTS if this isn't fix soon I may toss my iPhone 11 in the trash and get a Samsung.
