AirPods Pro Rattling Noise

I’ve only had my AirPods Pro for a bit over a month and my right AirPod has a rattling noise which originally was just when I coughed or cleared my throat and now it’s litterally every slight move it rattles. I use them primarily at the gym and it is the most annoying experience. I have disconnected my AirPods and re set them up but it’s still occurring. I don’t have the money for new ones as I’m about to start University is this something that Apple can fix?

I also have this issue with my right AirPods Pro. It was really subtle when I first got it and thought it was normal, but it got worse over time to the point where moving my jaw would make it rattle. Everyone should still have their year warranty so definitely contact Apple for a replacement ASAP. I contacted them via chat the other day and my new replacement is coming in today. Fingers crossed!

Completely understand your problem. They have told me to wait as well which is frustrating as with each passing day the problem keeps getting more and more persistent. Even on off mode it’s rattling at 70% volume which unreal. What the point of paying so much for headphones when you can’t listen to your preferred music at your preferred volume. I didn’t get the previous generation AirPods and saved up for a while to get these before which I used BeatsX. It’s heartbreaking to see this as a manufacturing defect to which they have no response apart from replacing it the faulty product with another faulty product.

based on their attitude it could a good 6 months due to the pandemic after which we are going to have our warrant void and will be paying for their defected product.

One of the theories I have for this is because of their firmware update in which they boosted the bass some part of the speaker has popped. Maybe because of high bass quality on YouTube. I listen to trap and bass heavy edm like trance and it’s genuinely not my fault that their products can not withstand trending music.

it almost seems like I’m wrong to even be listening to the music I like and should instead use these to listen to stuff that suits their poor build.

Considering the number of people who have posted that they’re facing the same experience (across many different Forums) there is definitely an endemic design issue with the AirPod Pro.

The issue is that Apple are absolutely silent on the issue and our voices are simply too fragmented to expect something to change. What’s really needed is some statistics on the returns rate for this defect symptom. Then we’d be able to see the naked truth in context. The only problem is that there will be a significant number of customers out there who don’t act on it and choose to just “live with” a defective product.

Has anybody made a YouTube video on this? I suspect that may gather more momentum and force some action (or at least a response) by Apple.

Recently I've noticed something odd with my 1st replacement pair of AirPods Pro.

When I first insert the right one in my ear after taking it out of the case and press to seal it in my ear canal, it emits a relatively loud "scratching/static" noise occasionally.

I haven't been able to correlate the mode the AirPod is in initially (NC, transparent, none) when this happens, but it doesn't happen every time.

Also, it is DEFINITELY not air pressure in my ear canal, the AirPod actively emits this noise from the speaker.

This same exact thing happened to me. I first had to get my left one replaced. And then my right one got replaced because it started having the same problems. And just recently my left one started doing the same thing. So I am very upset. You spend 250 dollars on a product that can’t even last a year. It will be a year in November and still having problems. Not happy. Especially when my year warranty is up. What happens after that? Should of just thrown 250 dollars in the trash.
