MacBook Pro 10.15.3 Catalina Camera Fails : Hardware ??
My MacBook Pro 10.15.3 Catalina appears to have developed a hardware fault with the camera that fails to work when using FaceTime, Photo Booth, Facebook Video etc although the green LED stays on for a short period of time, then starts flashing before the timeout occurs when using FaceTime with the obvious error "FaceTime has not received any video from the connected camera". This used to work and o additional apps have been installed, so from a system perspective, there has been no apparent changes from the time this used to work so not sure why now and even after reboots and I am seeing the following in the system logs....
StartHardwareStream: creating frame receiver: 1280 x 720 (420v) [29.97,29.97]fps
FrameReceiverMessageCallback: FrameDoneTimeout:
StopHardwareStream
VCVideoCaptureServer [NOTICE] -[VCVideoCaptureServer init]_block_invoke:217 @=@ Health: VideoCapture cameraPreviewCount=0, cameraCaptureCount=0, serverPreviewCount=0, serverCaptureCount=0
VCVideoCaptureServer [ERROR] -[VCVideoCaptureServer init]_block_invoke:229 frameBecameAvailableCount returned error -2146893808
So is this truly a hardware issue and if so, how do I rectify this (what is the process to do so) ?
Is this a driver issue for the hardware and should I go ahead and re-image/re-install the OS ?
Has anyone seen this previously ?
