Audio sound when recording a video.

Yo,

Today I realised I am having this issue. I recorded a video and the first 10 seconds approximately the volume of the video is low and then it goes to normal automatically. This only happens if you record on stereo. If stereo is off, no problem with sound volume at all.-

I use bluetooth, but it was disabled at the time of the recording.-

I reset the iPhone pressing the volume buttons (volume up down and power) but the problem persists.-

I have an iPhone 11 Pro using version 13.4.-

My wife has an XS on version 13.4 as well and no issues at all.-

Has anyone experienced this before? Any input is much appreciated.-

the problem is the RECOED button!

if you make a video when the phone is on silent mode it will record the video without any sound problem.

what i think is that the camera hear the sound on the record botton and it lowers the recording sound!

I haven't called them cause I live in Argentina and there are no official Apple Stores (just official distributors) so there's no APPLE direct contact phone #.

Please, let me me know what they tell you.

Also... do you know if Apple reads this sfuff we are posting?

Settings >General>software update>download>install

Turned phone off and on again

IT WORKED!!!

It really worked!!!

I called the main Apple Support line, and they told me to try this first. If it doesn’t work for you (but it should) call Apple because it may be a software problem.

Hmmm i don't understand your solution.

i have already updated my ios to the latest version (13.5) when it came out and it didn't solve my problem.

so... *shrugs*

Can you call back and ask how someone from Argentina can contact them, please?

Well... no solution to my problem... doing a Configuration reset right now... not going to Factory reset it.

If that doesn't solve my problem I should take it to an Apple Store... but there are none here so f*** it.

Guess what? It only worked for a couple test videos and now it’s back to being messed up. I’ll ask them about having you contact them. I just called the main number, and there’s also chat and email support on their support page.

I will get to the bottom of this!!!

I have to work today so it won’t be til about 5-6 hours from now.

Nacho, I saw where you said Apple said there isn’t a solution. That person you were texting doesn’t know what they’re talking about.!There has to be. My guy said that if the update didn’t work, it must be software.!I’ll find out and let you know, don’t worry. We pay too much for these **** things to have them not work right.

Well, this morning I was testing something... setting up my iphone like it was before. I was enabling "Reduce Transparency" and it wasn't looking good... so I did a soft reset pressing the buttons. That solved that problem so i said to myself... i'm gonna try recording in stereo one last time and it recorded fine. I believe it is a bug... not many might be having this problem otherwise many people would have replied...

Hi, I’m having the same exact problem with my iphone 11. Tried updating to ios 13.5 but nothing worked. Got my phone brandnew just last week and I just noticed this problem about the audio when I take the video using the phone’s camera app. Otherwise if I take it using other apps it works fine. I hope we get a solution to this problem soon!

My problem was *solved* but I don't know how. Jackabee1 solved it for a few moments after updating to 13.5 and turning off and on the phone.

When I did an All Settings reset, it didn't solve my problem. I was removing all visual effects and when disabling transparency it made some greys REALLY greys so I did a soft reset (with the buttons). That solved both problems... but that is not a solution... i haven't tried it again ha.

There is no proven way to solve this.

Hey there! I have iPhone XR with ios 13.5.1 and have exactly the same problem. I tried almost everything including soft reset, bluetooth off, etc. but no good. Switching off stereo recording works for me too but why give up stereo since I paid for it?

All right guys.

This is what I did last week. I wanted to wait a few days to test it out and then I updated to iOS 13.5.1. I also used bluetooth so I wanted to test whether that had to do anything with it or not.

Anyway, so far STEREO is working fine.

This is what I did:

1) After talking to Apple CS last week (using TextFree app, since I live in Argentina) they suggested me to first do an "Erase all contents and settings" and if that didn't work try Factory reset. No way I was going to perform a factory reset since I have my bank token app set up and if I'd done a Factory reset it wouldn't had worked anymore and I would have to go to an ATM to set it up again and here we are lockdowned due to the COVID-19. (sorry for the story)

2) I performed an Erase all contents and settings and tried the video thing. Still not working.

3) Turned off and on the phone. Still not working.

4) I said to myself f*** it and started setting up my phone. I, for one, remove all visual effects and **** like that. Since enabling "Reduce transparency" was causing a weird thingy with the grey colour I did a soft reset which solved they colour I said to myself... let's try the video thing again. Enabled Stereo and started to record myself and it worked fine... and until today is still working fine.

So long story short:

Try the Erase all contents and settings. Turn the phone off and on. Do a soft reset and then try the Stereo thing. Let me know how it works.

REMINDER: I don't know who put that the problem was solved cause disabling Stereo is just a workaround NOT a solution to record in stereo.

I have this same issue on an iPhone XS running iOS 13.5.1. My wife also has an iPhone XS running iOS 13.5.1 and hers does not have the problem. I have tried several different cases on the phone to make sure that isn’t causing it. I’ve also toggled the “record stereo sound” option on and off. Sometimes, after doing that, it’ll work normally for one video. But, by the next video, it’s messed up again. I just noticed the issue began this weekend. Seems to me it’s just a software bug. I guess I’ll have to wait for the next iOS update.

I contacted Apple support and their only suggestion was to wipe the phone and set it up as new. I’ve had this phone for almost two years. I’m not doing that. I’ll just live with the record stereo option off before I do that.

No. I honestly don’t have the time or the patience to restore a phone I’ve had for almost two years. There’s just too much on it. I’ll just wait for the next iOS update and see if that fixes it. Otherwise, I’ll just turn the stereo recording feature off.

Same here, bro. They troubleshot everything twice and told me to do a complete and total shutdown wipe clean and reboot at the Apple store. Uh, no...

im just living with it too. Not cool, Apple. Not cool. You can’t tell me they don’t know this is an issue. Come on! It’s Apple! SMDH

Also have the same problem with my new iphone 11. Whenever i record a video, first 10sec have no volume and it will increase to normal volume afterwards. I tried all the suggested tricks here (except factory reset-too risky for me) and still not working!!!! Hope someone can enlighten us how to fix this or Apple can find a solution and include this in their next IOS update. Btw, mine is already IOS 13.5.1. Hope this will be fixed soon.
