YES! I can corroborate that the current iPadOS 14 Beta update APPEARS TO FIX the 3-minute boot loop issue. As I write, I've had several hours without problems on Public Beta 3, which is the only one so far to fix the issue. As said by others, make sure you get Beta 3 to test whether it fixes this issue for you. (On my first go at this I was (automatically) given Beta 2, and was only offered the OTA update to Beta 3 the next day.)
TL;DR:
Opinions: (1) Some people posting on this forum seem to have different and/or additional symptoms to the original poster, and the majority including me (symptoms summarised below). So if this fix doesn't work for you it probably means that you have a different underlying problem that needs a different solution. (2) While I'm glad this seems fixed for now, the whole thing leaves a bad taste. Final word from Apple support at every turn has been, 'this is a hardware issue: pay £$500+ for repair'. This fix proves (if we needed proof) that iPadOSes 13.4.1 - 13.6 contained a 'bug' that unnecessarily bricked some relatively recent, top of the range (once), previously fully functional iPads FOR 2 MONTHS. There did not appear to be a mechanism for affected users to get a fair and timely resolution, so some (many?) paid for repairs or new devices. (I relied on my personal iPad for work and my employer paid for a replacement, fortunately just a week ago and so eligible for 'open-box' return.) My opinion of Apple would only be (mostly) restored if I see the bug acknowledged in 'patch notes', and hear that people affected get repair and replacement costs refunded on request. I get that affected users were 'a drop in the ocean', but the fact we've been vindicated (it's a firmware 'bug' not (just?) a 'hardware issue') shows that Apple needs a better procedure for this type of situation. Otherwise, they're accepting that some customers are going to get screwed, and they're fine with it.
Symptoms: immediately after updating to iPadOS 13.4.1 (and I assume any firmware 13.4.1 - 13.6), my iPad Pro Gen 2 10.5 reboots to Apple logo 3 minutes after sign in leaving the following in Settings>Privacy>Data Analytics: 2 x "stacks+thermalmonitord...ips" followed by "panic-full...ips" "no successful checkins from com.apple.thermalmonitord in 180 seconds..."
Timeline & attempts to fix: I upgrade to 13.4.1 on/around 10 May; posted in this forum on 19 May; had a tech support chat session in mid-May; emailed customer relations (as suggested by MichelPM) in May; had a Genius Bar appointment on 19 July (when I finally got back to London). I lost count of the number of DFU restores and iPadOS upgrades through 13.6 - none of which fixed the issue.
I can also report no problems (no recurrence of the 3-minute reboot loop) after upgrading to Beta 4.
Thanks, @MFandrich, for taking the risk and posting your experience! It gave me the confidence to upgrade myself.
Hi,
Anyone had similar issue with iPad Air 2, I have tried to update to beta 3 and 4 but i never managed to complete the installation as it continually boot on apple logo.
Also tried iOS 13.6.1 but installation did not complete and reboot on apple logo. I have reverted back to iOS 13.6 and now it reboot randomly.

This looks different than what most of us on this thread have experienced. My panic-full-xxx.ips file would have:
no successful checkins from com.apple.thermalmonitord in 180 seconds\nservice:
My issue started with 13.4 but I could install updates if I closed my cover to turn off the display once I started the Update process. Good luck to you.
I am having problems with the iPad Pro after the last update. It will not me open it it keeps going to the enter password after I enter the password. It then makes it look like it’s going to work but then the enter password turns up again.
Mines still working on beta 5. Hopefully it's fixed when the full release is here as I don't want to run this iPad on a beta for the rest of its life.
Really frustrating that apple have left this unkowledged
I've wasted several hours again today with no luck. Time to go get a Samsung. If any of you still have 13.3.1 or Beta 3, 4 or 5 I would suggest that you turn off auto-updates. I have no faith in Apple.
Just installed iPadOS 14.0. I wasn't particularly hopeful but this is the last chance for us isn't it? Anyway, after it installed the boot loop is still there, in fact sometimes it reboots after 3 mins and other times after only a minute. I really hope others are luckier than me, but Apple obviously don't care. As one of their employees said to me on the phone a few months ago - "We sell millions of iPads every year, and only a few thousand have problems." Also implied that to have a few years' use out of an iPad is a good deal.
Really, really hope the update works for you all somehow.
Would highly recommend anyone who purchased their iPad with a credit card to see if your credit card has a free extended warranty coverage on top on the standard warranty. Some credit cards offer 2 years extra coverage. This protection may even stack with other warranties you may have purchased like Best Buy or square trade. Worth checking on that in case you have this benefit.
No. iPadOS 14 Beta 3, 4 and 5 worked ok then bricked from 6 on. I waited for the official release of 14.0 and then updated which did not work. I was able to go back to Beta 3 at that time. I haven't touched it since.
You're stuck on beta 3 same as me then. Not sure what to do as I don't want to be stuck on this beta forever but don't want to spend money on a new iPad for a problem we didn't create.
Apple needs to take responsibility as I've escalated this several times just to be told it's a hardware fault and I'll have to pay to fix it
Mine has been operating at 100% with no reboots, shutdowns, etc. for six days now. I have NOT installed the latest software Update (just released) but whatever happened it’s working as well as ever. Very happy after a few months of dealing with Intermittent and constant shutdowns. Happy again.
It says 14.2 Public Beta 3....sorry I didn’t include that earlier. It continued to work for several more hours but then did have one reboot but now working more than 10 hours straight without another reboot. Also seems to have fixed a problem in fully charging the battery...previously it would not charge past 47-49% after 13.4.1 update but have now charged it to 100% twice. Strange....
I have NOT downloaded the latest 14.0. I’m operating on whichever one was just prior to this. Day seven or eight now and zero reboots/shutdowns. I’ll let everyone know if I experience any issues once I download the latest (14.0) but so far no problems with my iPad Pro (2nd Gen) 512GB operating on 13.xx?
I'm new to the club :( - iPad Pro 10.5 must have updated from a stable version and now I'm stuck on a boot loop on 14.0. Just to confirm I'm having the same issue - do you see the white Apple logo boot screen for around 10 seconds and then the screen goes black and repeats?
I was able to get it boot once laying flat on the desk but when I picked it up boot loop starts again :(
Mine was just shutting down suddenly (always without warning), black screen then start up as if just powered on. Did not update to iOS 14 yet. Somewhere between the last update or so just “magically” started acting normal again after a few months of constant and sometimes often reboots. I didn’t worry about it too much but wish apple acknowledged this.
