brand new magic keybaord not working with ipadpro 11 inch

I have the same problem, week old ipad pro 11 inch with new magic keyboard. UIOJKLM letters not working. Tried rebooting ipad that didn't work, now upgrading to IpadOS14.0.1 any ideas?

yes, I rebooted several times. When I type on those certain keys the cursor is moving, that can't be right can it. Beginning to think there is a faulty keyboard?

Hi i am also facing the same problems as the users in this chat. I am have updated my ipad pro to the latest software update of 13.4.1 There are instances where the trackpad becomes unresponsive. I have a video proof of it. Both my magic keyboard and ipad is brand new.

After a lengthy process of getting the right person on the phone, Apple is sending me a replacement keyboard (no Genius Bar appts available nearby in the next week). Hopefully that solves the issue, although I’m skeptical it isn’t software related. Will update.

My few month old magic keyboard using with iPad Pro 11-inch 2018 won’t type but this occurs at random. I tried the following but none worked:

• Disconnect/reconnect the keyboard
• Turn off and on the iPad
• Reboot the iPad
• Reset all content and settings on the iPad
• Reset everything without restoring from backup
• Updated to iPadOS14.2

I requested a mail-in repair/exchange today but I was (temporarily) charged over $300 in case my original keyboard is physically damaged (which is not). I’m not happy that this just a few month old item is not functioning as it should, especially for the price we pay.

Hi, the track pad should take its power from the ipad, so make sure the pins and contacts are clean. Also make sure the pins on the MK, are free and moving, if they stick in, no voltage can get through, and as you are saying it will not charge through the keyboard, would look carefully at the pins area.

Also have you updated to the latest software, as this can sometimes affect the keyboard, as it usually needs the latest software.

The other thought, have you tried restarting the ipad. Volume up/volume down. Hold the side button until the apple logo appears, then take your finger away. That may help.
