I had the same issue with my new iPhone SE 2020. Battery was incredibly disappointing for what I’ve known from my Apple products. I could see the battery percentage ticking down just reading articles (as some others described “a percentage point every 2 min” or so). Like others on here, I did the typical battery saving tips. Biggest clue for me was the first day I took it to work. I don’t have time to look at my phone at work except during my lunch. By the time I got home after 11hrs, I only had 20% battery life. Battery usage indicator told me that Apple Music was responsible for 87% of my battery usage. However, I had only looked at app for abt 3 mins during initial set up of my phone— never actually used it. The rest was background activity (even tho I turned off background app refresh for all apps). As a result of this finding, I uninstalled the Apple Music app. This DRASTICALLY improved my battery life. Next 11hr work day, my phone had only dropped to 78% with light browsing at lunch and a few txts. I used it to browse some social media/watch a few videos at home, but decided to keep off charger overnight. I’m writing up this comment right now with the phone having been off the charger for over 26hrs and I still have 34% battery life. This is much more inline with what I expected given how much i leave it in idle. Wondering if anyone else has the same issue with the Apple Music app possibly going rogue... uninstalling it helped me tremendously.

If you don't know how to import and sync photos and music to and from a computer after 10 years then you can learn here.

Connect the phone to your Mac or PC with itunes.

Go to Photos tab in the itunes/finder sync page.

Uncheck the Sync Photos radio button

Same thing on Music tab

Click on sync to complete the process

5 minutes.

As I use the normal apple workflow of import to Photos with "delete on import" on a weekly basis then sync back, when I back up the phone there were very few full size photos left on the phone

3 more minutes to import them.

I make that 8 minutes, as you asked.

I don't know how many charge blocks Apple sell on their shop site but the fact they are on there means something.

Although everyones opinions are welcome please don't personalise this.

The official Apple assistance sent me a new iPhone SE 2020 unit. I received it yesterday.

I setup it as a new unit, I lost all 4 data weeks of runs recorded with my Apple Watch gen. 3, thinking some random errors in old watch or iPhone backup.

This morning I had a new run with my new unit using Watch and Nike run on iPhone.

The battery was at 98%, when I back home after 75 min. the battery was at 65% and overheated.

When is overheated and it's only in idle battery drain another 5-6% before stabilizing.

I had a chat with assistance, a technician call me and we have did remote test.

Test is ok, we agreed to wait until next week.

I didn't have this issues with my previous iPhone SE 1Gen.

I had fast drain battery only with very cold weather or very heavy usage

I am using it very little because after these experiences I am really negative: everything drain battery and overheated after a simply old call too.

I bought this phone with economic sacrifice because my old one broke and I need a new iPhone for iCloud,

but I'm truly sorry to have spent 499 € for this unit and no less in a old refurbished unit.

The authorized dealer of my country does not provide for any refund and I'm very tired.

I have the same bitter experience with my newly bought iPhone SE 2020. The battery is draining too fast. The condition is not being improved despite doing some changes in the settings or restarting the phone! With normal use, without watching any video, the battery charge comes down to 70% from 100% within two hours. I have to charge the battery twice a day to do some normal activities like facebook or WhatsApp. I always cherished a dream to have an iPhone; but all my dreams have shattered after buying this iPhone. I have just switched from android phone to an iPhone. But unfortunately I have to depend on my old Chinese smartphone in spite of having a new iPhone. Apple is a prestigious band all over the world. But this iPhone SE 2020 is really disappointing. I hope Apple must do something to fix the problem as soon as possible. Waiting for some solution from Apple community.

I clicked on the link you have sent to me, and I followed the tips to maximize battery performance. Besides, I have transferred only my contact list from my android phone. Neither photos not huge data have been transferred to this iPhone. Despite this fact, the huge battery drain in the newly purchased iPhone SE 2 is really disappointing whereas the battery performance of iPhone 11 is excellent. Apple is a world-famous band in the field of smartphones. But their new product iPhone SE 2 has disappointed the buyers. It's my request to the Apple community to fix the battery drain issue for iPhone SE 2 as soon as possible. Waiting for a positive response soon.

Hello people, this is Sasi Kanth from India. I have bought iPhone SE on apple Trade IN. I am really shocked seeing the battery performance of the phone. I have been using iPhone since 6 years and used few series of mobiles from the manufacturer. But, the battery of SE is draining very quick. I sincerely request the technical team to fix the issue and release an update asap to save our battery percentages.
