I had the same issue with my new iPhone SE 2020. Battery was incredibly disappointing for what I’ve known from my Apple products. I could see the battery percentage ticking down just reading articles (as some others described “a percentage point every 2 min” or so). Like others on here, I did the typical battery saving tips. Biggest clue for me was the first day I took it to work. I don’t have time to look at my phone at work except during my lunch. By the time I got home after 11hrs, I only had 20% battery life. Battery usage indicator told me that Apple Music was responsible for 87% of my battery usage. However, I had only looked at app for abt 3 mins during initial set up of my phone— never actually used it. The rest was background activity (even tho I turned off background app refresh for all apps). As a result of this finding, I uninstalled the Apple Music app. This DRASTICALLY improved my battery life. Next 11hr work day, my phone had only dropped to 78% with light browsing at lunch and a few txts. I used it to browse some social media/watch a few videos at home, but decided to keep off charger overnight. I’m writing up this comment right now with the phone having been off the charger for over 26hrs and I still have 34% battery life. This is much more inline with what I expected given how much i leave it in idle. Wondering if anyone else has the same issue with the Apple Music app possibly going rogue... uninstalling it helped me tremendously.

I was in parallel with your experience pretty much. I’ve just posted back to a similar issue elsewhere.

my SE is relatively stable now, battery wise. I switch off at night and I’m down to one charge a day. I could imagine for a heavy user this would not be the case though. With Apple’s input at the beginning and my understanding of the battery issue I’ve been able to regulate battery drain. I really like my SE and plan on staying with Apple in future. It’s been a bumpy and unfortunate introduction to iOS but patience has paid off. Cheers drew.

Having this problem too on my new (not even 2 months old) iPhone SE 2020. I have disabled as much as I can (which doesn't seem right to have to turn off everything including email push notifications when these are the things we use our phones for and other phones can handle it fine) and overnight it went from 100% to 92% without me using it, and in 3 hours it has gone from 92% to 53% while making calls (to Apple and my service provider trying to sort this out). The other day while on the phone with Apple support and when they connected to my phone remotely they could see the power dropping. I made the switch from Android to Apple in hopes to get rid of the unreliability I was having with Android products and having to replace them every 2 years. Now here I am 2 months in and my iPhone isn't functioning how it should. Super frustrated. I bought Apple Care just because I'm already having issues. I really hope they fix this issue soon.

I have noted an extreme battery drain. Background refresh

off. Auto update off. I have lost in a 2-hour period of time over 85% of battery

with no use of phone. Today I woke up. Unplugged phone. Did not use at all. In

one hour, period of time lost 10%. This happens sporadically. States most

battery use was for Messages however in that 1 hour where battery life dropped

10% no messages, nor did I check Messages.

After 10 days my SE 2020 just came back from service (repairing ID: G397502706). Unfortunately nothing was solved. Apple was so lazy that they even didn't dismount the phone, they just update the software. The problem is still there: after 32 charging cycles (2 months usage) the battery stays in 86%. After I discussed with them by phone, they say there are some standard tests they did, if the phone passed these then everything it's "ok" (!?) and I should not complain because anyway the battery it's considered "consumable". Very disappointed, I don't know what else to do and to whom to complain, I never thought that Apple products and their services can became so bad, especially for this brand considered to be a high quality one.

I am talking about watching Netflix for about 15-20 min max. In that time i almost lose 20% battery percentage. We live in 2020, when i cant even watch a normal 1080p short video without too much battery percentage. I wouldn't call watching a video a 'powerful process' (ex gaming is). If i would watch Netflix in 4k i would understand that that process would take a lot of battery.

I can’t believe it. I need your opinions. I bought this iPhone SE 2020 in 21 July 2020. It was alright at first. But now till date battery is always percentage decreasing by 1% when I am on Instagram and Facebook videos and gets warm at the back. Takes Long like 1 hr to charge from 68% to 99%.

therefore I am trying to seek you guys opinions over this?

is there something wrong with the phone or what?

I am also getting terrible battery drain on a 5 day old SE 2020, I've first read a lot of guides to somehow lessen the battery consumption. e.g disable background updates, location services, raise to wake etc. and still getting terrible drain. should I get this replaced? This is my third iphone since the original se, and this is a terrible experience. my old se is doing way better job at holding the battery than this.
