Mail App Opens Randomly & On Its Own

The current workaround is to collapse the Mail window to the Dock, rather than closing the window.

I rarely type responses on my "feable iPad". You have no clue how these "icons" are assigned by Apple.

I am using a 2017 iMac currently; my laptops are busy downloading at the moment.

And, for your info, the memory management system was changed by Apple with the moniker "unused RAM is wasted RAM". No matter how much RAM you buy, it will attempt to use all of it. You can monitor your usage in Activity Monitor; as long as the display shows green, it is fine. Or, check if there is RAM swapping going on - that shows that you do not have enough.

What is angry birds? I don't do games. iPads are for reading and streaming foreign language content.

That is not a workaround. It may work for some people, but it doesn’t work for me. Pretty irritating in the time of zoom to be in the middle of an important meeting and have your screen get taken over by the mail program.

this issue started with my feable 8GB RAM macbook pro from 2017. then i upgraded to a more powerful 16GB RAM macbook pro, It did not solve the issue. however, i have noticed now my minimum ram usage on my macbook pro is atleast 9GB at all times, so i figured: This big bad beast needs more RAM, so i went ahead and purchased a brand new 64GB 16inch macbook pro. guess what? the issue still happens. and now the minimum RAM ussage on this nice RAM PACKED machine, is at least 34GB.

so please next time you want to comment from your feable ipad with a mere 2GB of ram, please stop and think 🤔 "am I adding value to this very important post?" most likely you are not lady, so take your ipad and go play some angry birds.

I now have 3 macbook pros, one in each corner of my office so i am ready to reply to your ridiculous comments.

I just sent them a complaint, but honestly, it’s all over the web, and it’s all over this support forum that this is a problem. This can’t possibly be news to them.

too many doughies working at apple, bunch of idiots. i tried buying more RAM but to no avail.

Apple has never sold RAM unless you are customizing your online order.

as for the ram management system, thank you for clearing that up. your information was indeed valuable.
