iPhone 11 speakerphone cutting out

My girlfriend and I both have iPhone 11’s. While talking to each other if one of us is on speakerphone the other catches every other word. This happens on both phones, if I activate speakerphone she only here’s every other word and vice versa if she activated speaker phone. If you turn speakerphone off there are no issues. Is there a setting that can fix this? Is this a common issue? Thanks

This has to be an Apple fault rather than a carrier fault. I live in Melbourne and so have an Australian service provider. Is anyone else plagued by iPhone 11 Pro Max making interrupting random calls?

You should call it in. We pay too much money for these not to work correctly or be compensated or refunded not to work properly. To save you some time and then trying to blame it on other things, reference those forum discussion by the title. Let them know you’re having the same issue others are in that forum.

I suggest 3 tests and give them the results. Make a voice recording and two videos. One video using the selfie camera. Other video using camera facing away from you. Talk for about 2 minutes straight. Play them back and see if your talking drops out. If not, you just proved the speaker phone fails only when on calls.

Note: the phone acts differently based on the camera being used is why you make 2 videos.

Been dealing with this for months. Have tried phone with or without case. Have had phone replaced 4 times. Problem still exists.

Have escalated the service request with Apple. Been on phone for DAYS with them. They've never heard of this problem. Really?

It's cool when it presents itself while I'm on the phone with them. I get, " are you still there?" Several times they've hung up on me when that happens and I start the process over again. Please be careful if you request a replacement. I'm still waiting, six weeks later, for a refund on the charge Apple put on my credit card for the first replacement. So, my $1200 phone is more like a $2000 phone. Thanks, Apple!

Has tech support been doing their job in terms of that? I am extremely upset about this and have dealt with the Genius Bar and Apple Support several times, finally the Genius Bar guy gave me a new phone but to no prevail. It is doing the exact same thing. Apple support/Genius Bar deny ever hearing about this when it is clearly a large problem. Unfortunately when one method of resolve has been exhausted, and nobody is being heard at that company...you have to find another avenue. I’m not going to say anything else on here about it. I’m sorry you’re frustrated just like me and others but don’t attack a person that is actually proactively doing something to help. In doing that, I need ALL aspects of data. I can’t entertain your friction...Apple’s friction is enough...channel that somewhere else, not here. Data drives EVERYTHING....#lastresponsetoyou

I’m the one that brought up the case angle. You’re right, this is frustrating when it feels we, the customers, are putting in more effort to resolve this than Apple is. They also tried to tell me this is the first time they’ve heard of these symptoms. We all know this has got to be a scripted lie at this point being forced by upper management which is sad. I hate the idea of getting a new phone and going through all the set up only to have the same issue. Plus, being a new phone, it could have additional issues.

I for one, as another customer, appreciate the inputs by other customers about this issue. Maybe someone will hit upon the actual problem versus ways to mitigate it.

Well, after 4 iPhone 11 Pro's, 26 hours on the phone with Apple support, a bogus $572.20 "repair" charge when I'm under Applecare as well as still being under the original warranty, I still don't have an operating speakerphone. Very unhappy with the situation. Continually told by numerous agents "we have taken ownership of your case, and will get back to you in 4 more days".

Nothing happens. Two months into dealing with this.

Folks, It's not you. there is a problem with the hardware/firmware on these phones. I've tried everything. Different phones, case/no case, resetting phone, Hard reset, standing on one foot, and holding phone over my head away from the deteriorating effect of my dying brain cells. My only solution has been to use a separate bluetooth speakerphone device. My previous 7 iPhones were all used extensively on speakerphone and did well. The iPhone 11 Pro? No so much.

Took mine into beat buy as I was advised to do from Apple support he ran test said it was fine. Said it’s possibly the carrier. I told him everyone on here didn’t have the same carrier. Also said they can’t take the phone apart bc it will void the warranty only Apple so suggests me to send it off and let them check it out. They will fix it or send me a new one. No I don’t want to do that. Hasn’t helped anyone else. He also said 40% of the time I am in a bad service area. He looked that up somehow. But why would it be like that at home when everything else doesn’t have a problem at home. I don’t know what to do DISCOURAGED

I have Verizon and have the same issue. Same with my mother in law and she has had her iPhone 11 Pro replaced 3 times thinking it was a phone issue. Cuts out on the other end when talking on speaker, immediately resolved when call is taken off speaker. There is no way this is a carrier issue if it only has issues when speaker phone is being used!!

No acknowledgement or resolution from Apple. It is clearly a problem in the entire iphone 11 line so that would be millions of phones probably. Doubt it’s a FW issue or that would have been addressed by now in one of the many iOS updates. Unless there is some type of legal action that gets their attention, they won’t be doing anything about it and most certainly won’t acknowledge it.

I have an 11pro and can not talk on the speaker phone without cutting out. They replaced my phone today and new phone also does it. This is also happening with my daughters iPhone 11. This is not a carrier issue...Never had an issue with my iPhone 6 and my kids have no problem with their 8 and 10. Apple needs to stand behind their product and fix this problem. It is not acceptable!!
