iPhone 11 speakerphone cutting out

My girlfriend and I both have iPhone 11’s. While talking to each other if one of us is on speakerphone the other catches every other word. This happens on both phones, if I activate speakerphone she only here’s every other word and vice versa if she activated speaker phone. If you turn speakerphone off there are no issues. Is there a setting that can fix this? Is this a common issue? Thanks

I have been having the same issue for several months. Had Apple send me a new iPhone 11 Pro and ATT sent me a new SIM card and reset my network. Everything had been replaced and nothing worked. THEN I took my phone case off and it was like night and day how clearly the other person could hear me. Do you have a case on your phone? That could be the cause of the obstructed microphone sound!

There has got to be a design issue or software bug going on. Wonder if it could be a specific lot of phones. The google pixel had a specific lot of phones that had some components from a specific supplier with some issues. Phones from with the components from a different manufacturer didn’t have the issue. Google extended everyone’s warranty a year due to that for that phone.

I have Verizon and have the same issue. Same with my mother in law and she has had her iPhone 11 Pro replaced 3 times thinking it was a phone issue. Cuts out on the other end when talking on speaker, immediately resolved when call is taken off speaker. There is no way this is a carrier issue if it only has issues when speaker phone is being used!!

No acknowledgement or resolution from Apple. It is clearly a problem in the entire iphone 11 line so that would be millions of phones probably. Doubt it’s a FW issue or that would have been addressed by now in one of the many iOS updates. Unless there is some type of legal action that gets their attention, they won’t be doing anything about it and most certainly won’t acknowledge it.

I have an 11pro and can not talk on the speaker phone without cutting out. They replaced my phone today and new phone also does it. This is also happening with my daughters iPhone 11. This is not a carrier issue...Never had an issue with my iPhone 6 and my kids have no problem with their 8 and 10. Apple needs to stand behind their product and fix this problem. It is not acceptable!!

Sarah, I agree with Aquarius . Replacing the phone with another will do no good. I did it three times and all four phones exhibited the same problem with Cutting out while you are on speakerphone. Either the hardware, software or firmware are defective . And since the iPhone 11 Pro has now been replaced by the 12, I don’t think Apple is going to expend money or energy to fix last years model. In other words, we're screwed....

I’ve had the same issue right out of the box, 11 Pro 256G. My moms phone is the same and my hubs 11 Pro Max 256G is also doing it. The speakerphone has some kind of interference that also confuses voice activated systems, aside from confusing people! Bluetooth car stereo is ok, but I haven’t tried calls with a headphone/set. FaceTime is just as bad and totally pointless anymore. I’d rather watch an actual mime, at least they are completely silent. 🙄 My phone is currently at Apple for repair...fingers crossed they actually get a clue that there’s a big problem with their $1200 waste of money.
