iPhone 11 speakerphone cutting out

My girlfriend and I both have iPhone 11’s. While talking to each other if one of us is on speakerphone the other catches every other word. This happens on both phones, if I activate speakerphone she only here’s every other word and vice versa if she activated speaker phone. If you turn speakerphone off there are no issues. Is there a setting that can fix this? Is this a common issue? Thanks

This has to be an Apple fault rather than a carrier fault. I live in Melbourne and so have an Australian service provider. Is anyone else plagued by iPhone 11 Pro Max making interrupting random calls?

Please join this Facebook group so we can come up with a plan of action since Apple refuses to HEAR us and resolve the issue....we will need to be heard a DIFFERENT way. They can’t IGNORE ALL OF US TOGETHER! Pls make an initial post with ur story. You can copy and paste from here. I just want to have to documented on their as well.

Also please copy and paste this message under someone else’s post because Apple will only allow a person to post a couple times. I do want everyone to know and share it. Thx

We should not have to pay for a brand new phone if we just bought one tho.

I'm currently on the phone with Apple about the speakerphone issue as well as bogus charges they hit me with to replace my broken (speakerphone issue) iPhone 11 Pro as they can't seem to correct their system to reflect that I purchased Applecare when I purchased my 11 Pro from the Apple Store. Two months, 3 phones, 26 hours on the phone with Apple, 5 restores from backups, 2 requested New set ups and No better off than when I started, just lighter in the wallet by almost $600 for an erroneous repair charge. Same story as every other call. The "Advisor" will get back to me in a week.

I have been having the same issue for several months. Had Apple send me a new iPhone 11 Pro and ATT sent me a new SIM card and reset my network. Everything had been replaced and nothing worked. THEN I took my phone case off and it was like night and day how clearly the other person could hear me. Do you have a case on your phone? That could be the cause of the obstructed microphone sound!

I too have tested all three iPhone 11 Pros I’ve had with and without my Otterbox Defender case. To repeat what others have said, it made zero difference. Once I put a call on speakerphone, my callers say that My voice goes in and out. Switching back to handset mode, all is good, unless I switch back to speakerphone again and the problem repeats itself. I finally purchased a Blue Ant Supertooth Bluetooth car visor mounted hands free device that I clip on my belt, with the iPhone in my shirt pocket so that I can converse without holding a handset to my ear. What a pain.

I’m having this issue with my iPhone X. It started a couple of months ago intermittently and is now the case full time. I’m on ATT. It happens when wifi calling is on or off. Happens when I have full bars outside. Happens on phone calls AND Zoom/WebEx meetings (so not the carrier). Also happens now with my AirPods and another set of Bluetooth headphones AND has just started with using the phone to my ear. Basically my phone has turned into a radio. I can hear just fine. I even reinstalled everything last night to help since the iOS 14 upgrade caused some issues. No fix!

My brand new (a month old) iPhone 11 Pro also has this speakerphone issue. The person I am speaking to tells me my voice cuts out regularly. The moment I switch OFF speakersphone, it works fine. I've called my carrier and there is nothing they can do because it isn't a network issue. Clearly this is an iPhone issue because SO many people here with iPhone 11's have identical complaints.

I have an appointment at the genius bar this weekend, so we'll see if they say anything.
