iPhone XS screen right side not responding for touching

Hi! Ever since I upgraded to 13.6.1 my screen’s right side faults to respond touching . It’s very strange because it doesn’t work all across the edge straight from the bottom to the top (see the screenshot, I tried to fill a note with a pencil). I actually have to flip my phone and type horizontally because the buttons on the right aren’t reachable.

Yesterday I tried switching the screen to larger mode in the settings and then switched back to standard and it helped for a while. But then it failed again and remains unresponsive until now. Any ideas what it could be caused by and what should I do now? I didn’t go for repairs service yet cause it doesn’t look like a hardware issue. Thanks!

I have the same issue with the right side. Just took it to the Apple Store in Bethesda, Maryland. (Not so)Genius Bar guy said "did you have the screen replaced by an unauthorized dealer" or did you drop it? Then he tried to pry his fingernail under the edge and show us that the screen was detached in the upper right corner. Because he was behind the COVID screen I really couldn't see but just agreed with him. His solution was a $275 screen replacement or I should use the $300 credit to upgrade to another phone. I told him I'd think about it. When I got home I examined the phone and could not see the screen detached. Total lie to get me to upgrade or pay to fix it. Such a BS conversation with Apple. I'm going back to the store and mention this thread. The phone has been in a case and has no sign of damage.

Hi -- i'm having the exact same issue. I don't live in the USA and will definitely not pay for a new screen (not only because it is not reasonable, but also because in my country there is no genius bar or apple store where to do this safely). Does anyone have any idea on how to solve this? P, 0 and delete are simply not working. I already made the reset. Nothing (plus i lost all my stored passwords). This is crazy.

I’ve been facing the same issue for last couple of days. Very frustrating and disappointing! I have been using iPhones for 8 years now, and this is the first time I’ve faced any issue. Turned out it’s been happening to with X, 11 as well.

It all started with iOS update and the fact that it’s widespread, I don’t think it’s a hardware issue. Additionally, my faceid has also stopped working same day. That’s very strange! :(

Just tested and I think it has something to do with the temperature.

My iphone x started this problem 2 days ago, I upgraded to 14.6 and it worked for a few hours, the next day it went back to this problem again, so I just tried to warm it up as it's cold at my place, and I'm able to type letter p now.

Not sure how long this solution will work, I've called apple support but they have to check lots of things and cannot provide a satisfied answer.
