How to display clip durations in iMovie 10.1.15?

Hi all, just updated to iMovie 10.1.15 and whereas before when you hovered the mouse over a clip in the timeline it showed the clip duration in the top left corner of the clip, it now shows the clip name, which is about as useful as a chocolate teapot. Any ideas how to get it to revert back to its old behaviour?

Thanks, Tim

You are welcome. It is puzzling why the handy feature of duration display on the clip would be eliminated. It might be just an unintentional glitch in the software that possibly will be cured in a later update.

Or it can simply be a corrupt preference, that can happen sometimes with updates. You might try deleting preferences and see if that cures it. Open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. See if the display is any different.

Still having the issue & it’s October at this point. I called Apple & the representative screen shared with me & said a lot of people had been calling in about it lately actually. He said they were looking into it & took my name and number & said he’d call when they had any new info but to look for an update just in case. So far nothing.

I’ve started learning how to use Final cut Pro lmao
