Battery drain after iOS 14 update.
I had installed the new ios 14 and my battery drained from 90% to 10% without me even touching the phone. This has never happened before.
Please Apple fix asap.

The actual “notes” app that comes on the phone. That is where it said it was using a lot of my battery and it said it was running in the background for a long time. Nothing was supposed to even be running in the background but that app kept drawing from my battery nonstop. I deleted it and reinstalled and haven’t had a problem since. Not sure if that’s the problem app everyone is having problems with but you can check. If you go into settings, then down to battery. If you scroll down on the page it shows how much battery time is used on each app. If there’s one that seems like a crazy amount of time, it could be the problem?
My iPhone XR is also draining battery unusually very fast. I checked my battery health which is 93%. Still draining fast.
is it another technique of making people change battery/ phone ???

I am experiencing what a lot of others seem to be as well. My iPhone 8 was working swimmingly until the update I did overnight. Now my battery life drains exponentially more after the update. Please fix this, the optics of this make it seem like a money grab, forcing people into upgrading their phones.
14.6 is absolutely abysmal!
Before the update I would consistently get between 2 and 2.5 days use out of my iPhone 12 pro max.
Immediately after updating to 14.6 I now get 1 day max out of the battery.
I saw people saying it was the podcast app causing it, but this is not the case, as I do not use podcasts on my phone.
The above "fix" of turning off siri when locked is not really a "fix" it means losing a feature which you should not need to have to do just to get your batter working as it should already be!
This did NOT fix battery drain issue. Although it looked like it worked it was only a coincident. I turned Siri back on when locked and battery drain is fine. So I guess other apps upgrading could have been the issue. Sorry for any confusion.
My SE will 'freeze', than suddenly (in a few seconds) produce a black screen. Nothing responds, but on plugging in the charger the battery symbol with its red line at the base appears, and it reaches 100% in about an hour. Happening about twice in three days, but not during the same function.
Hi, I also have this issue with my xr
i am just using this phone less than 5 months!!!!
my 6s also had this issue because it was refurbished so I replace my crappy 6s with 10 r and I still have this issue!!
I might need to switch to android again:(
My iPad’s battery has been draining too fast for a long time now and it just won’t stop. Mine is on iOS14.6 and it just won’t stop draining even though I charged it last night. After I unplugged it, then it was on 100% for a few minutes and then it started to drain a little bit. Is there anything that apple can do to fix it? Anyway, that is the only issue.
When is Apple going to stop doing this to its customers. They know what they are doing, I am not spending $1000 on a new phone because they make updates that cause problems for older phones. May be this is why that there is no way speaking to Apple directly?
My phone had less than 2 hours of screen time today, literally sat in my pocket during my 12 hour shift, and went from full battery to under 20%. This has never happened before, and only happened after I downloaded that “emergency” update that just so happened to be put out right before the new iPhones were announced. Seems to me that apple is still putting out phone-damaging updates to force people into new phones. Complete ********. And before you ask, I have an iPhone 12 Pro, battery life at 98%, so this is just apple pulling its ******** to force people into new phones. Complete joke.
Hello~ While I firmly agree that Apple is not “doing this intentionally to promote sale of new devices. They are doing business with bad ethics. Not at all desired from such big name.” as stated in post by SatishRawat…I myself have not experienced any of these problems with any of the updates and if I did I would be using another phone but I find my iPhone has fewer problems than other family members non-Apple phone. Nothing is perfect.

After numerous attempts to find a user name not taken I realize this is more than a coincident. I and a coworker with diffent apple phones also have same problem after update.this is the last time I own one. will be gong back to other brands. My wife has my five year old Samsung ,still works! My I-phone is two years old! My kids told me not to buy one, once I should have listen to them. Very dissatisfied with apple at this point. Last night powered it down so batt would be good in morning and it was 1% in 8 hours turned off. Past warranty they go to heck (want to use profanity) . Not a coincident I think they do intently! And done
I also updated 14.8.1 and I was at 100% battery life and within 15 minutes after unplugging my phone I was down to 1% battery life. This has got to be away for Apple to sell new phones and if that’s the case I hate Apple
I had installed the new ios 14 and my battery drained from 90% to 10% without me even touching the phone. This has never happened this crazy I don’t want to switch to different phone service but if i got to I will but loved my phone until u all did update
I am having the same issue and there is no application using except map which activates 1 min an hour.
Sorry, I should have mentioned we updated to 14.0.1 as soon as it was available after iOS 14 was installed. Same results. :(
