Battery drain after iOS 14 update.

I had installed the new ios 14 and my battery drained from 90% to 10% without me even touching the phone. This has never happened before.

Please Apple fix asap.

The actual “notes” app that comes on the phone. That is where it said it was using a lot of my battery and it said it was running in the background for a long time. Nothing was supposed to even be running in the background but that app kept drawing from my battery nonstop. I deleted it and reinstalled and haven’t had a problem since. Not sure if that’s the problem app everyone is having problems with but you can check. If you go into settings, then down to battery. If you scroll down on the page it shows how much battery time is used on each app. If there’s one that seems like a crazy amount of time, it could be the problem?

I found a fix of sorts, maybe it’ll help someone. (please note that I had only battery issue after update; no heat issues)

I noticed a drastic performance drop in battery after upgrading to iOS 14. I’m using an iPhone 11 with 95% battery health, so this was really concerning. I noticed that Apple added a lot of location based widgets in the original widgets screen (I’m not talking about customized Home Screen widgets here like clock or battery, which shouldn’t really consume too much battery). After removing all of those widgets for a test run, my battery performance seems to have improved a bit. I wouldn’t say it’s back to exactly what it was with iOS 13, but it’s definitely more manageable.

I installed 14.2 just a day ago and... (I really don’t want to get my hopes up too soon, but) it seems to have fixed the issue for me! Went almost 18 hours on a single charge with mild use on a 9 month old iPhone 11. Keep in mind though that I’ve always had Background App Refresh off, location services accessible only by the apps I really need and no heavy location-based widgets, so 16-17 hours on mild use was something I was used to before iOS 14. (I’m mostly connected to WiFi the whole day, thought I should mention that here because it uses a lot less battery than 4G)

It’s still early days though, I’ll check if it keeps it up the next few days and leave an update here :)

Try a factory reset, and find out how long you have your iPhone. 6s is 6 years old now so it might be your battery because sometimes the won’t last when you exhaust them. Try to find an Apple official resellers or official repair shop to examine your troubles. In comments before I explain how to reinstall and the use of some kind of logic. Instead of buying a new one. Good luck.

My iphone had a health of 89% as well. I changed battery because it didn’t last long. Now I am able to let it be idle for days. Recently I updated to 14.4 and there was a remarkable activity, the weather widget consumed 90% of all the power. The phone did strange again. So I removed it and now I am testing again. Best thing to do is a factory reset if your phone acts strange, and from there on. “the best ios ever”?
