Battery drain after iOS 14 update.
I had installed the new ios 14 and my battery drained from 90% to 10% without me even touching the phone. This has never happened before.
Please Apple fix asap.

The actual “notes” app that comes on the phone. That is where it said it was using a lot of my battery and it said it was running in the background for a long time. Nothing was supposed to even be running in the background but that app kept drawing from my battery nonstop. I deleted it and reinstalled and haven’t had a problem since. Not sure if that’s the problem app everyone is having problems with but you can check. If you go into settings, then down to battery. If you scroll down on the page it shows how much battery time is used on each app. If there’s one that seems like a crazy amount of time, it could be the problem?
They only way is a complete reset of the iPhone 6S, very, old model. The best option is to bring it back to ios 13, advice from Apple, because it would run smoother and doen’t rquier so much from the system as ios 14 do. But there is no way, polici from Apple, to migrate backt to ios 13. To bad but this is the way. I hope some day there will be a choise not made by Apple to stay on an ios, and get the right security updates, that works just good. If that is not the very latested is not the problem by Apple but my own.
The only choise I have right now is to refresh ios 14 because it is messed up, again.
Older iPhones respond atypical in showing the health status. I had a healty status of 89% but the battery discharged rapid during a couple of hours. So Apple repair installed a new battery and now it run unused for at least 3 day’s or even more. Spending money on a battery and older iPhone was a good investment.
The reason of a confused health status is because I used a juice pack, most of the time.
Try a factory reset again, and make a complet fresh install. No apps, dont go on wifi. Try this for a couple of day’s to find out if the battery issues still occurs. Did you replace the battery at Apple’s or certified?
Domotica can also can contain malware. Try a factory reset an make sure u do the latest firmware update from the website of the manufactor.
I have had the same loss of power problem with my iPhone battery since I updated to 14. I go for an hours walk each day and in that hour my phone goes from 100% to 2%.
I have however managed to overcome the battery drain problem by going into Setting - Safari - and clearing history and website data before I go for my walk and leave google closed.
Try a factory reset and restore your content from iCloud. Use iTunes to do this reset.
With older iPhones it helps turning of, all, Sire and turning of wifi, twice. Tweak your device to the lowest data usage or if necessarily on wifi, for exemple photos backup, when you are recharging. Good tweaking can take a while.
Try to find an Apple store to determine, test, if your battery is still in good shape. There will be an update coming up I read, that gives better insight on the battery's health. But indicates that it will only be for an iPhone 11?
First of all, how long has it been since you updated? As mentioned before, battery usage will be higher for the first 24 - 48 hours after an update as the phone needs to rebuild several internal databases.
Second, just because one person saw success shutting off Siri doesn't mean that Siri is somehow responsible for battery draw; I do not have it shut off and see zero unexpected battery draw.
However, I don't understand why you would want to go two to 2.5 days between charges; most people put in on a charger overnight and leave it there until they need to leave the next day, and put it back on a charger when they return home.
Do remember that for the first 24 hours or so after any iOS update, battery usage will be higher as the phone needs to rebuild all of its internal databases it uses to be able to search quickly.
You're not talking to Apple here, just other Apple users, so you're literally shouting into the wind.
You can make your complaints to Apple known here:
I had this issue with 14.5 just gone to 14.6 and back to normal battery life good
I believe there may be a software issue in iOS14.0.1 that causing excessive battery drain. I am having a similar problem, even though battery health is rated at 88%. The problem appears to be related to the Notes app and widget because even though I use the app only occasionally, the battery usage panel says that Notes "background activity" and "widget" is responsible for 23% of battery usage and that the runtime is over 10 hours.
I have a similar problem. The battery is in good condition but is now being drained almost overnight following the iOS 14 update. I did notice however that the main drain on the battery power the first day was maps, (despite me not using maps at all that day). I have now turned off maps and the main drain is now showing as Siri, (which I never use). I have just been through almost every thing I can think of to turn off Siri and am hoping this helps. I am wondering, given the previous threads if the problem might lie with the new widgets or with some connection between Siri and the Health app? Certainly the issue is clearly a software one as this problem has only just arisen since the iOS 14 update.
and apple tech told me my battery failed the diagnostics and needs to be replaced... even tho it was perfect before the upgrade. so now i have to be without a phone for over a week or miss work and go to the store. Unacceptable!
with all do respect, I spent weeks allowing apple engineers and tech monitor my phone and analyze my data but they were contradicting against each other. They admitted there was nothing with my phone and that my battery was in good shape. Yet, they couldn't tell me what the issue was. In the end apple techs asked me to have them replace my battery on my own cost but they refused to guarantee if the battery replacement will solve the problem.
No wonder, because there is nothing wrong with it.
It is the ios14 that has caused this mass power drain issue.
The solution is that apple admits to the problem they have caused then work on a solution.
No body is perfect, not even apple.
The consumer should not pay the price of apple's mistake.
If you believe this is a software issue, Apple Support are the ones who can tell Apple Engineering there is an issue they should look into.
The moderators here do not forward that information on, they only monitor the forums to make sure posts adhere to the ASC Terms of Use.
Therefore if you don't want to work with support, the issue may never get addressed - your choice.

Apple has been held guilty by the court, for throttling the speed of older iPhones with the newer software updates. Apple's claim is that reducing speed on older iOS devices helps conserve battery health/life on these phones, especially when upgrading to newer iOS versions. Since Apple can no longer throttle older iOS devices, as per the court verdict, therefore, the newer software may be taking a toll on the battery health/life of older iPhones with the latest iOS. Users should have the choice to downgrade his/her iOS devices to an older version of iOS (v13 or earlier) in order to prevent the battery drainage issue. However, it seems Apple has stopped iOS devices from downgrading from iOS14.1/14.2 to an earlier version. Which means, unfortunately, at this point it seems all the older generation iPhone users are stuck with accelerated battery drain issue until Apple releases a software fix . Battery drain issue is such a basic bug, which could have been captured during the testing. Apple should be well aware of this issue before iOS 14 release. I do not see a fix on this anytime soon.
