I had installed the new ios 14 and my battery drained from 90% to 10% without me even touching the phone. This has never happened before.
Please Apple fix asap.

The actual “notes” app that comes on the phone. That is where it said it was using a lot of my battery and it said it was running in the background for a long time. Nothing was supposed to even be running in the background but that app kept drawing from my battery nonstop. I deleted it and reinstalled and haven’t had a problem since. Not sure if that’s the problem app everyone is having problems with but you can check. If you go into settings, then down to battery. If you scroll down on the page it shows how much battery time is used on each app. If there’s one that seems like a crazy amount of time, it could be the problem?
The point of an update is that it will make your system secure again or better secured. It will cost an amount of resources to do this. Apple has masked the use of battery en healt status, my battery was still 89% healty. My iphone lasted for a few hours at last. Newer ios will not always run as snappy, was the chat information served me.
Whit a new battery replacement my iphone runs smooth again, on ios 14.3.
Try a factory reset, check out domotica witch uses wifi, and bring your apps back from the cloud. When your phone is 4 or 5 years try a new battery from an official reseller. It did work for me on my 6s.

Try to do a factory hard reset will possible help issues. It worked with my 6s and cold temperatures are not good for the performance of a phone. I decided to replace the battery and turn everything that has t o do with siri of.
Maybe you need to find out if your phone has a hardware related problem. This should be fixed before any software related issue.
At an official Apple store or reseller they can test your Apple hardware.
If you go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health what does it say there? There should be three entries.
Please call or chat Apple Support so they can help you. This is a user-to-user form only.
Try to fresh install iOS. It helped me on a 6S. Sometimes an app can be using lots of resources.
Just try a factory reset before you chose to do a repair on your battery. Offical Apple resellers can tell you if your phone needs to exemined. Read later on wat to do with app’s and or domotica.
Try a factory reset, thanks for your reaction. Look for my reply’s what options you have.
Try a factory reset, be carefull with app’s and also minimize the use of widgets. I hope there will be some answers and why this happen.
It wil help to record a problem at the Appledesk. It will help to try some of the possebilties like trying to reset your device.

It is definitely a software issue with iOS 14. My wife's phone was working perfectly until we updated to iOS 14. I just tried the fix posted above by cpickrell and it did not help. Followed the steps exactly as listed in the article with her watch and phone. Phone still shuts off after only 10 - 15 minutes of use when it says it has a 100% charge. It won't boot back up unless it is plugged into power. Then plugged in the battery indicator is red stating 10% or sometimes less power. This is so frustrating, since she cannot even use her phone. Apple needs to get this fixed NOW!
I contacted Apple support last night and they ran I hardware diagnostic on the phone. Came back fine, so they suggested I take it in to an Authorized Apple Service provider. Scheduled for this Friday.

This is the worst part, now I go into the Battery Health screen and it states: "Important Battery Message Your battery's health is significantly degraded. An Apple Authorized Service Provider can replace the battery to restore full performance and capacity." The maximum capacity states 91% like it did before the restore when following cpickrell's link above. This important battery message was not displayed prior to me following the steps in the link above. Now when I take the phone in tomorrow, of course they are going to say it's the battery, when in fact it is NOT the battery and an iOS issue.
This phone was in PERFECTLY working condition without any battery issues prior to installing iOS 14. This is so frustrating as the phone is junk now. Apple needs to get this fixed.
Another thing I notice is not only does the battery drain EXTREMELY fast, but is also charges EXTREMELY fast. For example I just pulled the phone off of being charged for 4 hours, opened Facebook watched a couple videos and posts for 4 minutes and watched the battery percentage drop to 97%, 83%, 82%, 23%, then the phone went black and nothing. Plugged it into charger and it went from 6%,10%, 23%, 64%, 92% and now 100% in a matter of 5 minutes. Sometimes the battery will last longer, maybe a max of 15-20 minutes. This points me to believe it is a software issue and not hardware (battery) issue, especially having this not happen until iOS 14 was installed.
