Battery drain after iOS 14 update.

I had installed the new ios 14 and my battery drained from 90% to 10% without me even touching the phone. This has never happened before.

Please Apple fix asap.

The actual “notes” app that comes on the phone. That is where it said it was using a lot of my battery and it said it was running in the background for a long time. Nothing was supposed to even be running in the background but that app kept drawing from my battery nonstop. I deleted it and reinstalled and haven’t had a problem since. Not sure if that’s the problem app everyone is having problems with but you can check. If you go into settings, then down to battery. If you scroll down on the page it shows how much battery time is used on each app. If there’s one that seems like a crazy amount of time, it could be the problem?

Divide an conquer, trying to make this matter as much individual it can get. I have three apple devices and they all suffer from increased battery drain after 14.2. upgrade. Se1 se2 mini5. Just tell to your grandma that i should cooperate with engineers. Fix it! Thats global. I recommend to stop wasting our time and do some real work in fixing it.

I see. My message was reply to your point but to apple admins reading the forum. See my second reply.

Sorry but suggesting support is waste of my time. If it was individual device yes, but not all. This is global. I am really considering factory reset on all of them if 14.3 wont fix it. I do not have apple due to fancy reasons and this hw costs quite a lot of money in my country. I like it because it is stable device. I am just concerned about the usual silence and such recommendations to check with support. Batteries are in good condition, subject od their age and usage.

I'm having this issue too. I have a 6s Plus and it has to stay plugged in and charging at all times otherwise the battery will drop from 100% to 1% within a few hours of unplugging it. According to the battery health area, the maximum capacity for my phone is 84%.

Apple needs to fix this asap because my phone is practically unusable when I'm away from home and unable to charge it.

After 2.5 hours od streaming music, battery from 25% to 1% se1 with 83% battery condition. Maybe the 14.3 ios is better, can not say now. Time will tell. It is not worse. For someone with phone only on charger whole day it can not be worser to update. What will you loose when looking at this from whole day on charger perspective?

i see that clearly, i read something about for example repair is difficult with 3rd party hw, about apple service in shops, well stories. I just do not see that relevant to current situation. If apple will not fix it or will not issue a statement on how to fix it in settings i do not know which os/hw manufacturer to use as substitute for what i need. Nobody will pay for my expenses and it was quite expensive already. The feeling about apple being guilty is like chinese landing on moon. Distant.

I had upgraded my iphone 11 with 14.2 update after that I am observing my phone battery getting drain very fast (2-3 hours) even I am not using it, the phone battery capecity is 90% I bought this phone last year after its launch. Please rectifiy this issue as soon as possible, this was my first iphone after this battery issue now I am feeling very dispointing.

Iphone 8 after upgrade to ios 14.2 from 13 i need to charge phone 3x per day with two hours an average screen time.

with phone locked and no application turned on in idle mode phone loses 10% of battery per hour an average.

I dont want to change any settings since i was charging phone once in two days on ios 13 version.

i thought we are getting energy efficient... charging phone 3 times a day is quite oposite 😁.

Literally wtf QA team??

i would rather downgrade than follow idiotic instruction to disable 15 things.

Is this another attempt of apple to boost new iphone 12 sales by software “features”?

dont get me wrong love the product, but literally hate your QA team.

help!

There something really off. I leave my iPad plugged in overnight and it’s charged like +20% when it used to be at 100% no problem. I was also able to use Chrome while plugged in and still charge the battery. Now it drains significantly instead. Yeah, it’s an old iPad but this has been a dramatic change in like the last few months, not a gradual decline.

This is all with the iPad plugged in: https://imgur.com/VGqw4nf

Really? Battery needs replacement! This is the same stunt used a few years back when an update caused battery to drain faster, to try to get people to buy a new phone, tablet or iPod.

Shame on you Apple! My issue started after the update would be at 80%, power off by itself once plugged in shows battery completely drained after a minute or two showing the 80% again ALL AFTER THE UPDATE 😡

My phone has been loosing power so quickly after the latest iOS update that i can barely keep up. Same with my boyfriend. Have Watched it go from fully charged to 10%or less within seconds - right in front of my eyes.. This keeps happening over and over. All the Apple stores are now closed again because of the pandemic . What in the world were u guys thinking putting this out and then not immediately patching ? And doing it right now of all times?? I seriously don’t know what to do about this. My boyfriend is self employed and really need his phone. Please for the love of sanity (and being a good corporate citizen) get out a patch for this ASAO!!!

I am thinking that maybe way out are ios updates. Trying the new one now. A week since the last one. Still betting on this because if i will try factory update then i will keep that old se1 version of ios that came with it and be offline. Use it for calls and sms. Which was anyway my plan with the apple phone. Swich offline once se1 ios are out of support. I just did not expect that i will remain on the base ios. But who will in future say “oh you have bad battery because the ios14 mishandled that”. Is it true? It is not impossible.
