iPhone camera not working after iOS 14 update

Hello... after I updated my iPhone 7 Plus to iOS 14, my camera acts up. It doesn't load the camera. I then try to turn on the flashlight but it doesn't work either. Sometimes, I try to repeatedly turn on and off the flashlight until suddenly it works. I then come back to the camera and keep switching the camera modes, and rarely, it functions. Once I exit it an try the camera on an app though, it doesn't work again. Restarting didn't help my problem.

Hi, you can check this: If the camera or flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't working

You can restore your phone as new:

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

If the issue persists, you can take your phone to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. Book an appointment on getsupport.apple.com or use the Apple Support app.

Apple wants me to pay $349-450 to replace my device. 😂 for issue that exist in their iOS. I’ve got 2 phones that it’s done it too. Saying well audio board went out when it power cycled but yet diagnostics says it’s fine 😂. Even apple tech at store said it was fine in both.

I can spend $120 on insurance to replace device that way but I don’t think I should have to. But I believe I’m gonna try it and when it does it again when I update to iOS 14 it’s not gonna be good for them.

Since the mic no longer works on the iPhone 7‘s and speaking to other people or even making recordings isn‘t possible, it’s technically and practically no longer a phone. With the latest patch it is at the most an iCamera, yet not a phone. Apple, I bought a phone, give it back to me ASAP!

It has the same feeling of taking my car into the garage to get an inspection, when I get it back it no longer performs its main function of driving, yet it has all these other new features. Now waiting over 2 weeks for a solution.

There is a separate discussion on the microphone. I would suggest to post your problem there to call the attention; the title of this one may hide the microphone problem to others. The title of that thread is

"Solution for IPhone 7+ Microphone that Stopped working (Grayed out) after IOS 13.5 Update."

(I don't copy the link cause those posts get usually deleted.)

Please, post there and call also your local Apple support and let them know so that they get an impression of the extent of the problem

I just used the Apple support App several times and several phone calls and emails with links to these threads. They randomly emailed and called me today this evening and they done a apple care screen share to see the problem that we are experiencing and once she seen it. She said we can do a advance replacement device we will send you iPhone XR for ya 7+ so we can see why and what is causing this because there is no way everyone is having a “hardware issue” at once.

Yes I know. I have been an active participant in this discussion as well and have even got a lot of posts removed by Admin. Only the customers are not that important for Apple, in our country I guess. Why can’t they globally replace these faulty iPhone 7 models? It’s a torture to have a phone and not being able to make or receive calls. It is such a handicap 😔

I just got a call from Apple support; the person said that he was informed that I had a problem with the camera and mic. He asked me to explain the whole thing. I told him that the camera problem was solved with 14.0.1, but the mic problem remains. He said he would study my case and call me back tomorrow. It was a very positive surprise that they called themselves! (It is fair to say also the good things, not just complain...) I presume they read the discussions then. I will write tomorrow here after they call me back.
