iPhone camera not working after iOS 14 update

I’m having the same problem! When I got the iOS 13 my microphone stoped working and now with the new iOS14 ( which by the way I thought it was gonna solve my problems) my cámara stopped working to!

your products are really expensive but we still continue buying them because we trust your brand! But now I’m really concerned about it you must solve it !!!!)

it’s not possible that every time you want to develop a new IOS it bring us more complications than solutions !

I would like to believe you when you say mic is a software issue. Do you have insider info, or own experience with the problem and how to solve it? Please, share! :^) When I talked to Apple (after upgrade to iOS 13) they told me it was not a software issue.

@William Kucharski: I appreciate your comment. I did call Apple when the mic problem came up and discussed it at length with them, but they did not acknowledge it was an issue of the update (see some of my previous comments here or in the thread about the mic problem; link above in this thread)

You may not want to believe it, but it has never been a supported procedure for the general public.

They may not acknowledge it at this time, but the issue does get passed along to engineering if it's seen to be affecting a number of people.

I lost all hope by now. I reported the problem of the mic about a year ago and they closed the issue on me. I got a request to evaluate the service, and I wrote that my problem had not been solved, and that was it. I never heard from them again. Given that many others here report the same issue with the mic, and I presume they contacted Apple when this happened to them, they must have a clear picture that there is a problem, and that this is not a careless user who dropped the phone and broke their mic. How long do we have to wait to hear back that this was a design issue and that they would repair our phones with the costs on them?

I'm so happy I'm not the only one with the same exact issues with the iPhone 7 Plus. My microphone stopped working a couple weeks ago (most likely after an update), and now my camera + flashlight stopped working after upgrading to iOS 14. I almost ordered a replacement microphone, i'm glad I didn't.

i have an iphone 7 pplus and did identify the same functioning issues after my update.

I went to the apple store who told me after diagnosis that it was a coincidence thatthe fault appearss after the update !

Do you have an idea to make me ear ?

It is surely not our fault. It can’t be a co.incidence that so many iPhone 7 Mics got damaged after iOS13. It is a manufacturing defect at Apple’s end and they are in denial, as it would hurt their reputation as well as pockets.

obviously I can’t post without something getting deleted here. So I’m gonna contact support in min when I get to the house. About the mod that keeps deleting comments that aren’t against community rules and isn’t helping anyone or making any comments here to try help anyone.

The Mod deleted another post of mine yet again. This Mod is really getting annoying, as if the phone’s Mic issue was not annoying enough. We can’t even raise our voices is it? It’s about time Apple gives a solution to this problem

Iphone 7 plus same issues and microphone won’t work. Greyed out speaker button when trying to call they can’t hear me i can’t hear them. I’m not waiting forever for an update, fix this now or give me a new phone free of charge because this is ridiculous and not my fault.

Since the mic no longer works on the iPhone 7‘s and speaking to other people or even making recordings isn‘t possible, it’s technically and practically no longer a phone. With the latest patch it is at the most an iCamera, yet not a phone. Apple, I bought a phone, give it back to me ASAP!

It has the same feeling of taking my car into the garage to get an inspection, when I get it back it no longer performs its main function of driving, yet it has all these other new features. Now waiting over 2 weeks for a solution.

Oh I’ve said a lot of smart *** things to them the last 2 weeks over the phone 😂 especially when the last guy tried to tell me a power surge caused the audio board on everyone’s devices to break all on one update.

This mic error is a pain in the *** i really cant afford 130€ to fix something i didnt break and wait 1 week for the phone ti get fixed cauze by what they say they have to send it to another city for it to get fixed (local repair store) we dont have apple stores near here so i hope they do something i am deppresed and full of anger in the same ttime

so camera does work now but if u try to use it sometimes it will randomly turn on but not take photos. as for the mic it has stopped working since ios 13. ive tried all future ios betas and the issue just gets worse with the speaker sometimes getting static so please do not update to betas and lets hope this gets solved.

Turning the flash on in IOS 14 camera app, is now more complicated. Previously, tapping the flash icon used to give you the option of 'Off - On - Auto'. In IOS 14, you have to tap the flash icon, then, in the top/middle of the screen, you have to tap the new '^' icon, this opens a row on icons at the lower part of the screen with another flash icon. Tap the new flash icon, (lower part of screen), and you're then presented with the previous 'Off - On - Auto' options.

Unfortunately, you have to do this EVERY time, as the top button only cycles between, 'Auto' and 'Off'. - Why somebody thought this was a good idea, is beyond me. Quite frankly, its a stupid, pointless, fiddly and time consuming idea.
