iPhone camera not working after iOS 14 update

Hello... after I updated my iPhone 7 Plus to iOS 14, my camera acts up. It doesn't load the camera. I then try to turn on the flashlight but it doesn't work either. Sometimes, I try to repeatedly turn on and off the flashlight until suddenly it works. I then come back to the camera and keep switching the camera modes, and rarely, it functions. Once I exit it an try the camera on an app though, it doesn't work again. Restarting didn't help my problem.

Hi, you can check this: If the camera or flash on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch isn't working

You can restore your phone as new:

How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings

If the issue persists, you can take your phone to an Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider. Book an appointment on getsupport.apple.com or use the Apple Support app.

I have received a call from apple support and they confirm that i will receive a replacement phone for my iphone 7+ and i will receive a confirmation mail for this replacement within 3 businesses days and i will get the new phone (I phone Pro as they promise) through a box.

One week almost passed and i have not received any email confirmation. When i call them back to ask for the confirmation email they told me i have to send my phone first at my cost as the do not send box for out of US and in this case and if it was a technical issue they will replace it with the same model (Iphone 7+) and when i told them that this not what was communicated earlier they told that it was a mistake from the employee.

i was very disappointed at the end.

Hey I’m also a part of the group whos mic’s are not working. But my mic stopped working long before I did the latest iOS update. Took the phone to the Apple store and a certified repair shop both have told me that the mic issue is a motherboard malfunction...anybody else get a response similar?!? I’ve tried all the little bootleg tips to help it start working again..aka hard reset, cleaning it, I even tried using an air gun to blow pocket debris out from the inside of the phone. Nothing seems to work. The only way I can make a phone call is thru Bluetooth in a vehicle aka car, truck, suv....not even headphones with a mic work, nothing that you can hook up to the phone works only thru Bluetooth frequency does the phone make calls...so frustrating since I have taken care of this phone better than any objects I’ve ever owned since I’ve learned my lesson thrashing phones over the past 15 years I went outta my way to see if I could make this one last over 3-4 yrs by truly taking care of it like recommended, but then now I’m being told that it’s a freaking motherboard issue!! Come on Apple wtf?!? Make this ish right!! Any more tips y’all can throw a iPhone players way??

Really same as problems I am having. :( Tried to talk to Apple Support and it seems nothing will release soon and also, if we bring to their service stores, what we have to do is paying a lot and eventually end up giving this phone (which I dont want because it is a souvenir!). I am giving something but if nothing helps I am going to write to Tim Cook!!!!

Yea well they aren't being as helpful to me. All of the folks I've spoken with keep telling me it's a hardware problem, despite being caused by a software upgrade and they want me to pay over $300 to fix it. I've done everything from screen shares to show them to allowing them to collect logs for 24 hours to trying a bunch of different things all to no avail (microphone continues to not work). It would be nice if someone read this, realized that breaking things with software upgrades that apparently cannot be fixed is bad for repeat business.

Thank you very much for sharing your case. I really want to do the same but the problem is where I live we don't have such a support. I talked to Apple Support via chat and got an ID for my case however when they referred me to a Authorised Service store, the ppl here immediately asked to charge money for just doing hard reset which I had done by myself. Then, they said they would not fix anything except the camera, screen and battery problems. Anything else they would only do a replacement with a 7Plus phone subject to pay 300$. It is not right. Also, I don't want to get a replacement phone. I want to fix, this phone is a souvenir to me.

Same case. After being contacted from Apple Support in US for this microphone issue and get promise for replacement and confirmation email. They have asked to call local apple authorized centre in my country as they do not send box out of US. I have contacted the local authorized apple centre they ask for repair charges as my phone is out of guarantee or if it can not be repaired i have to pay around 500$ for replacement of the same device 7+.

I hope if Apple could send replacement for those who have microphone problem and live outside US

It clearly shows that Apple’s services and repairs are not standardized and differ from city to city, store to store and person to person. Such a big brand and no standard solution to a common problem faced by hundreds and thousands of loyal Apple customers across the globe. A problem that was caused by Apple’s software update and for which they refuse to claim the responsibility. You have clearly lost a lot of loyal customers to Android, not something which we would expect from a giant like Apple. Quite sad.
