iPhone camera not working after iOS 14 update

I’m honestly so mad about this situation like I have videos to make and stuff and I can’t make my content with all this iOS 14 bs it’s annoying apple needs to check there things before releasing it and ruining everyone’s phones like come on now and my flash doesn’t work when I go to snap the camera doesn’t work on TikTok where I make videos isn’t working like bruh

suddenly last night after having my phone work completely fine, my microphone went out. like some people have said the speaker button is grayed out and you cant hear nor, have people hear you during calls. i saw the latest update and thought maybe this will fix it. nope. i get on my phone this morning to have both my mic and camera "broke." what do i do!! could someone help me

I have the same camera problem on iPhone 7 after upgrading to iOS 14. Turning on the flash then the camera and waiting for 10 s works for a while. Hopefully 14.2 will solve this.

I'm surprised to read here that many others had problems with the mic in a previous upgrade. I had the same. Apple told me it was a hardware problem not related to the upgrade and that if I wanted to get it repaired I would have to pay. But seeing that others had that as well I would think it is their fault. Anyone had it repaired by Apple?

They also told me it's a hardware issue. They said that the component could be broken and when the software accesses the component again, if it's broken, it won't be able to access it. I don't buy it.

In ios 13 my microphone stopped working and during calls i can’t hear the person while calling.

Now that i have ios 14 my camera don’t work and i see the whole time a black screen, i tried to do it with the flashlight but if i close camera and go back it was gone.

I had called them about the mic problem and they ran a test and it said nothing is wrong with my mic or my camera but later on that it was a problem for eeeyone and that the camera problem would be fixed in the next update. I had emailed them this morning to let them know about grayed out mics and they said thanks for the update that they’ll get on it . I’m not about to pay so much money for a stupid bug fix .

I contacted apple earlier today I was on the phone with them for 3 hours and they couldn't do anything about it, I now have a phone with no mic, camera, flash. I can't call I can't use Siri I can't access my voice mails can't use the cameras on things like snapchat, tiktok, Facebook my flash light doesnt work. I have a phone that can text and thats it.

Same! I forwarded all my calls from my iPhone to Nokia basic phone which is the only spare phone I have with me right now and using my iPhone to watch videos. This is just too sad cause my phone isn’t even 2 years old.

First of all, I have been blaming my daughter for over a year about her microphone not working because of her clumsiness... oooops. Now I know!

Secondly, the flashlight and timer tricks did not work for her on the 7s, but this has been working for her...

Turn ON Dark Mode from the control center and leave it on.

Mic stop working after iOS 13 camera stop working after ios 14 CAN WE MAKE IT A BIG THING SO APPLE NOTICE it? They asking me 136€ to fix the microphone I live in Greece and in my area there’s no apple stores I think of throwing it away..

Same camera issue occured on my iphone.

I cannot understand why this common issue will not be found by QA team?!!

It has already cause a lot of trouble,

for others like bluetooth, wifi not stable i can still handle, but for ca,era i cannot accept.

Pls fix it ASAP.

Apple it’s been 4K people atleast trying to tell y there’s a problem we have to pay 100$+ to fix our microphone that we didn’t broke some of us have the same phone for 2-3 years and 100$ is a lot for a fix to a problem we didn’t make i beg you please help us with the microphone/camera fix I’m exhausted I’m depressed I have to carry headphones and be aware all the time

there was a class action against Apple on this before? I didn’t realize that. But seems it’s closed.

so it’s a defect.

the mic maybe related to an audio chip problem and the camera maybe related to an iOS 14 bug.

so the upgrade is supported on older phones but doesn’t mean you will have a pleasant experience. Solution is to buy a new phone. (Again!)

i had the same mix problem for many months.

I blamed on myself getting bringing the phone to the pool and maybe I got dirt like suntan oil ok it. I wash the phone since it’s water resistance ... then I got water damage on the screen and fried Touch ID.

I’ve been having nothing but issues since updating! Same as everyone, since iOS13 phone microphone/speaker doesn’t work unless I use Bluetooth/AirPods. Now iOS 14 my camera doesn’t work. Are they forcing us to upgrade? What the heck!
