Open the Settings app, go to General, and then Reset, which is at the bottom of the General screen. Then go to Reset Keyboard Dictionary, which is also at the bottom of the screen. Tap that and you'll be asked to enter your passcode. Note that this will delete any and all custom words you have entered on your keyboard

Still none. I was good for two days since installing 14.2 beta and then I went to unlock and text, and it lagged for a full sentence for about 5 full seconds before this pos caught up and The entire message came up. And now as I’m getting banner notifications for iMessage this pos is lagging wherever I’m typing, as it just lagged typing this when one popped up. Think it’s time to dump and sell this garbage phone. Apple is trash.

I have been experiencing this lag with my keyboard since about iOS 10 or 11. Each update I hope it will address it. Alas, it deals with everything BUT that. I’m literally contemplating switching back to android. iPhones now are expensive and super glitchy. I switched to iPhone back with the 4 and fell in love. Now I might as well have an android again. Disappointed. This isn’t a new issue. There’s a thread back from like 2018. I’ve tried just about everything and there is only temporary relief then lags again. After this update, though it’s way worse. Uggggg

Has Apple addressed this at all in any way anywhere(this forum, articles etc. )? We are on iOS 14.2 now and somehow this is still an issue? I’ve asked about 12 of my friends, and every single one has the issues. This is a massive bug that is impacting a huge audience- how is it possible Apple hasn’t fixed yet? It’s probably the most embarrassing lack of effort I’ve seen from Apple so far. iMessage is the most used app on the iPhone by far for most, and after months they can’t fix this or explain why they can’t fix. Next step is I’m going to call Apple and really let them hear my displeasure. If you want to sell $1600 phones, and not allow it to work correctly for months at a time, I want an explanation how a 2 trillion dollar company can’t address this in a timely manner. I’ve used every iPhone/software edition since inception and have never seen anything close to this in terms of a major bug not being fixed.

Yeah I called support and after two hours of waiting for callbacks etc they finally said there’s nothing they can do but setup a replacement phone to which I said ummm no bc it’s happening on any phone running ios14, not my specific phone lol. I was like please just log this somewhere because there’s almost 10k “me toos “ on the support thread and it’s not a new issue lol

Yeah and I’m sorry but the people who are saying to completely wipe your phone and never restore from a backup and start over brand new it’s just ridiculous. Apple should fix the problem rather than make people wipe their phones and start over as if it’s the first time they had an iPhone. I pay to have iCloud so I pay for back ups so if I ever wipe my phone I’m going to restore to those back ups. Ridiculous.

Asanokatana - You seem to be incapable understanding this basic concept so I’ve done you a favor by explaining this in great detail. Now there’s no excuse for your continuation in being absurdly ignorant..

You’d do well to keep your trap shut if you’re going to be a toddler that’s throwing a hissy-fit and feels the need to be disrespectful. Perhaps you’re not able to apply deductive reasoning to figure out different scenarios as to why someone may have posted in this specific way, but one way: could be the person's first visit and doesn’t know the ins-and-outs as opposed to someone that’s been using the discussions portion of this site for awhile.

I’m not going to lie and say I would do the exact same thing as Bbg_Tayy. If I have a question and I’m unfamiliar with the layout and what shortcuts are able to be used, guess what.. I’m going to start my own thread and ask my question in the only way that’s apparent to me at the time I need an answer. I couldn’t care any less if a multitude of people asked the exact same question I have.. I’m going to ask the question.
