iPhone keyboard lag iOS 14

Lag. Slow. It’s won’t type in real-time due to this issue. Compete garbage they screwed up the keyboard - the one thing that you need to function properly on a smartphone. This sort of nonsense has me re-thinking iOS devices.

I figured the more people complaining, Apple will expedite a fix. This lag is terrible, and should have been vetted prior to release. Stop rushing new IOS versions without properly testing them! #FIXTHELAG

I am having the same issue (iOS 14.0.1, iPhone X, 256 GB). The keyboard lags, especially when switching from one app to iMessage. I’ve done a reset, and it seems to fix it temporarily, but then the lag comes back.

This is exceptionally frustrating, especially given the fact that the keyboard is such an integral part of the iPhone.

This is a communication tool, and the primary means of communication is glitchy. This needs attention, ASAP.

Same on AppleTV. Had to remove YouTube and reinstall just to get it to scroll. I’m not updating to 14.0.1 who knows what that will go wrong. Agree that we pay hundreds of dollars for the AppleTV and thousand for phones. Sad part I was showing off the AppleTV to a firetv user and they giggled and sad you can tell it’s an Apple product. Please fix.

I have iPhone 11 and it’s super annoying! To the extend normally I like to just pick up my phone text and put down but this lag is really annoying 😡 please Apple fix this! For a £850 this is terrible makes me think my old Nokia 3310 would beat the text in a race 😂

This lag issue is maddening. Please Apple...fix this in the next update and release it quickly. I can’t take this much longer and am strongly considering moving to a different phone outside of Apple because you are aware of annoyances like this and don’t fix them in a timely fashion.

Honestly- Apple should be beyond embarrassed by this release. How do you release your big software update and let this slip through? Messages is literally the single most used app by I would say 99% of people, and it seems like almost everybody(no matter which phone they have, I have the 11 pro max) has this horrible lag when typing messages? Considering people were reporting this in beta, how could this POSSIBLY be released without fixing, and then go this long without an update? I just don’t see how it’s acceptable and really shameful moment for Apple. Amateur hour for the most valuable company in the world- get it together guys if you want to stay on top.

Has anyone noticed the delay when talking on the phone, I was wondering why it took someone to reply but today I heard it when I was on the phone, I would say something and real faint i hear myself when it reaches the other person and he replies.

Yeah I did the reset and it happens more now. The random volume up and down. Also noticed that when I’m playing Bluetooth music through the car and open the messaging app the music shuts off. Someone at apple messed up some software with iOS 14

Well ****. I was hoping to find a fix in this thread but I guess I’ll keep an eye on it in case anyone finds one. Someone at Apple really screwed the pooch on this one, letting it get through beta and all. They need to fix this ASAP. I rely on my phone to communicate with my husband when either of us is working, and to be reached whenever an issue occurs at work of my boss needs to contact me and this **** lag is making it difficult.

We shouldn’t be looking for fixes on the lagging issue or removing apps, Apple send out the update and it screwed everything up, no Apple needs to fix it with another update, I don’t understand what’s the delay with Apple since thousands of people are complaining about the same thing and they’re not doing anything about, these iPhones are expensive, there shouldn’t be any issues with the operating system, that’s why Apple loses a lot of people to Android, Apple wake the **** up!

Since the update the keyboard lag has been annoying. Why everytime there’s a new IPhone being released and a new IOS there’s always problems with the previous generations out of nowhere. Ya forcing us to get the 12? Smh

Yeah - A real bummer for user experience. There is a noticeable lag when I type a text message on my iPhone X. This was not happening before the upgrade.

Similarly, my Spotify now "skips" - acting very much like the typing lag. Memory management problem or something...

Yep happens to me all the time now. Start typing a text and like the first 6-7 letters pause and then type all at once. I don't understand why we can fix the things that need addressing but yet we can add a bunch of useless things to the updates?

So I was on the beta version of ios14. Now they keep prompting me to download the non beta version. It’s annoying cause I don’t have any updates available to download even though I deleted the beta profile.
