Open the Settings app, go to General, and then Reset, which is at the bottom of the General screen. Then go to Reset Keyboard Dictionary, which is also at the bottom of the screen. Tap that and you'll be asked to enter your passcode. Note that this will delete any and all custom words you have entered on your keyboard

I am having this same issue, but on my iPad anywhere I type more than a sentence. And it is not a slight lag. I hav to wait minutes in many cases for my typing to show up. Word, e-mails, even within a Remote Desktop. It must be something with iOS14. I’m going back to school while working and trying to use my iPad to write papers for school and remote in for work. It was working great until the iOS 14 update. The only work-around I’ve found is to ensure the application is closed down and no longer running in the background and restart. I have to do this every two sentences! Apple please fix!!! Is there a way to go back to the last iOS 13 release because the typing lag is to the point where I can no longer use my iPad.

Apple if you’re listening I just noticed something weird. I always caught out of the corner of my eye something in iMessage flashing on the screen real quick while typing causing a quick slowdown lag. I never knew what it was but I was able to kinda catch it. It looks almost like the “react” bar when you hold press and can react to a text with thumbs up down etc. as that popped on the screen real quick the typing lagged but it was gone within a millisecond. No idea why it popped up, I was mid typing.

Can we stop with the wacko conspiracy theories? Do you know why Apple acknowledged that the slow-down was happening? Because they weren't doing anything nefarious. Ill-advised, sure, but they weren't slowing phones down just to get more money.

There were features that were introduced to newer iOS versions that were unstable with older phones. These features were disabled on older phones so that they didn't drain battery and bug out.

Hey all here’s a random thought...wonder if anything from the carrier had to do with it. Everyone so far in person I’ve met with the issue has Verizon except one guy who is on ATT First net who’s never seen the keyboard lag or the notification not sounding issue ever. But everyone else I know is Verizon. What’s everyone in here rocking? Mine is an unlocked 11 pro bought from apple, but I’m using it on Verizon. Hmm
