iPhone Fitness app and Apple Watch Activity app not syncing

Ever since I updated my iphone to ios 14 activity app isn't working properly.

Indoor walk gets recorded in the watch but does not show up in the activity app, outdoor walk workouts are missing, route track map does not appear any more. I tried restarting phone and watch and even unpaired and paired the watch again but no luck.

Does anyone else has similar issues?

Looks like there are lots of bugs in activity app in ios14

I too had this same issue.

I've been working with Apple Support and engineering to fix this, well my problem at least.

I'm happy to say that all is fixed for me, my maps, awards, move streaks are all there and showing.

To start, make sure your data is really there. Look in your health app on the phone.

go to Workouts then scroll all the way down to Show all workout Routes

Tap that and see if the data is really there.

If it is here are the steps that Apple gave me to follow and it worked.

This involves wiping the watch and the phone.

You must use the iCloud back up

  1. Make sure that under iCloud, you have toggle on Health Settings>your name>iCloud>Health>make sure this is toggle on
  2. UnPair your watch from the phone (Watch>All Watches>Your watch tap the !> then tap unpair Apple Watch
  3. Perform an iCloud backup Settings>your name>iCloud>Backup>Tap back up now
  4. In the health app, tap your picture bubble on the top right, scroll down to the very bottom and make sure that the data has been back up. It this does not show the correct date, do nothing else as it will fail and your data will not be correct.
  5. iPhone>Settings>General>Rest>Erase all contents and settings
  6. Restore iPhone from iCloud backup
  7. Repair your watch to the iPhone
  8. Restore Watch from iCloud back up

This is what I was told to do and it worked.

Proceed at your own risk.

I contacted Apple support and I was suggested

  1. Unpair the watch.
  2. Backup iPhone data to icloud.
  3. Erase iPhone.
  4. Restore iPhone from icloud backup.
  5. Pair watch again and restore data.

Before I just had some lost workout and graphs were not plotting specifically for number of hours I was standing up(hours were correct though) and GPS route tracking for workouts were not plotting.

After I performed those steps as suggested by Apple support, all of the issues I had are still there on the top of that I lost all the workout awards/badges I had from over 2 years.

Kudos to you Apple you really did it this time!

My data is all messed up. I have workouts on my phone that are NOT on my watch. Even workouts that I used to import with Rungap are intermittently failing. I imported 3 from this morning and only the last one went in. A second one appeared for less than a minute and while I was watching, the workout disappeared and the calories associated with it went away. So frustrated with this update. Apple has now admitted there are issues. Here is the link to address this issue... https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT211865 Of course to perform these steps, if you do not currently pay for icloud backup, you will need to sign up. What a joke.

Same issues with me. Just done an indoor walk this morning, it’s there on my watch fitness app (WatchOS 7 on a new series 6) but nothing on my iPhone running iOS 14. I’ve seen a

number of Apple forum discussions about the issues with WatchOS 7 and iOS 14 and I’d sounds like it’s a manor bug in the system. I’m told Apple are aware of it and working on a fix which hopefully will come as part of the 14.1 and 7.1 updates.

I just upgrade to 7.0.2 in USA and it appeared Apple fixed the GPS Mapping for Fitness App only for the date after the update. It did not fix previous data. That is sad. I am not sure whether Apple fix all other problems or not. But the weather info disappeared from Fitness App next to GPS Map after the update. I may assume Apple did not fix all the problems other users reported in this tread of discussions.

Mine is working now, almost miraculously. This is what I did. First, I unpaired and repaired. That seemed to make things worse. No exercise data appeared on the watch. It looked as if I hadn't punched in my code, just a couple of dashes for each. Then I did what I should have done to start with, the WD-40 of electronic devices: I shut both down and restarted. Still, nothing. Then, about a half hour later, I checked my watch for the time, and all the exercise data was there. Nothing was lost. Go figure

Just in case anyone hasn't already, it would be super useful to Apple if developers experiencing these issues can capture some debugging logs by following the instructions here:

https://download.developer.apple.com/iOS/iOS_Logs/HealthKit_Logging_Instructions.pdf

https://download.developer.apple.com/iOS/watchOS_Logs/HealthKit_Logging_Instructions__Watch.pdf

and attaching the resulting logs to a bug report here : https://feedbackassistant.apple.com
