iPhone Fitness app and Apple Watch Activity app not syncing

Ever since I updated my iphone to ios 14 activity app isn't working properly.

Indoor walk gets recorded in the watch but does not show up in the activity app, outdoor walk workouts are missing, route track map does not appear any more. I tried restarting phone and watch and even unpaired and paired the watch again but no luck.

Does anyone else has similar issues?

Looks like there are lots of bugs in activity app in ios14

I too had this same issue.

I've been working with Apple Support and engineering to fix this, well my problem at least.

I'm happy to say that all is fixed for me, my maps, awards, move streaks are all there and showing.

To start, make sure your data is really there. Look in your health app on the phone.

go to Workouts then scroll all the way down to Show all workout Routes

Tap that and see if the data is really there.

If it is here are the steps that Apple gave me to follow and it worked.

This involves wiping the watch and the phone.

You must use the iCloud back up

  1. Make sure that under iCloud, you have toggle on Health Settings>your name>iCloud>Health>make sure this is toggle on
  2. UnPair your watch from the phone (Watch>All Watches>Your watch tap the !> then tap unpair Apple Watch
  3. Perform an iCloud backup Settings>your name>iCloud>Backup>Tap back up now
  4. In the health app, tap your picture bubble on the top right, scroll down to the very bottom and make sure that the data has been back up. It this does not show the correct date, do nothing else as it will fail and your data will not be correct.
  5. iPhone>Settings>General>Rest>Erase all contents and settings
  6. Restore iPhone from iCloud backup
  7. Repair your watch to the iPhone
  8. Restore Watch from iCloud back up

This is what I was told to do and it worked.

Proceed at your own risk.

Neither my phone nor watch have been tracking activity (especially ‘outdoor walking’) since the updates on iPhone and Apple Watch. I have had multiple conversations with Apple tech people, and I have backed-up and restarted both my phone and watch multiple times. This seems like a ridiculous inconvenience for customers (like me) who have paid $250+ for watches to track their activities, calories, etc and now (since OS7 update) they don’t work. Today I took a 65 min walk, and the Watch credited me with 6 minutes (I’ve had similar issues over each of the last ~5 days). Ridiculous. Seems like non-Apple products would be a better option? Glad mine is still covered by AppleCare...

I don't think that re-pairing and wiping my phone will help in any way - the problem started with my Watch Series 3 on 6.x as soon as I updated to iOS 14 and it persisted once I moved to my new Watch Series 6. Also all older workouts are gone from the Fitness App, so the culprit is either the App itself or some weird iOS14 bug. Highly annoying...

Ditto here.

I didn't notice right away, but I just walked again this morning and the "Distance" walks do not register as a workout. The "open" walks seem to be logging. Also, all my heart rate graphs for walks have disappeared and so has the map.

Additionally, the stand hours graph is not displaying.

The exercise minutes, stand hours are updating.

This is very frustrating as I love the badges and now I have lost my perfect workout week...

I’m having the same problem and am pretty bummed that I have to start all over with my longest move streak because of this. I was on 265 days and that’s all lost now. I don’t get how my activity showed normal on my husbands watch and phone but not on my own. Hope when this is truly fixed I get back what I actually did.

‘it does register again as of this morning after I updated my watch but am not sure if it will keep it up

Have series 4 and now That's very annoying with the last update, just provide a way to roll back to last stable version!

Since updated to last version Watch came to regular digital watch and the workout apps are useless, some running Walker activities are not been saved and but shows the calories. No route map, no been sync with another tracker app like Relive. Once ask you to choose the calories per week will show it as per day and not able to change it later.

Update, so you know you're not alone with this:

Watch-update 7.0.2 did not solve my issues with work-out syncing between apple watch and iPhone activities app... This morning the work-out (started and stopped on watch, with iPhone left at home) failed to show up as a work-out in the iPhone activities app, though some activity data does appear on the health app.

:(

So I had the issue of workouts not showing up and nothing with the GPS/map data and heart rate data. So I did the process that Apple published and NOW the workouts are showing up by my rings are completely frozen. Nothing is changing, I went for a 2 mile work during lunch and the rings are in the same place as before the walk, but the walk is recorded as a workout. Any thoughts?????

I'm having all sorts of problems too. I've got workouts missing between watch and iPhone app, and just the last couple of days Activity app is telling me it hasn't got enough heart rate readings in my workouts, despite me checking throughout my workouts and it always having a reading! On top of that, Apple Health app and Activity app have been about 5000 steps out of sync for the last couple of days... I checked all the data sources in the Health app and it looks like my watch is only reporting a fraction of the steps that I've done and that show up in the Activity app?

Bit relieved to hear others are having this issue and it's likely a bug in the OS, but still pretty infuriating!
