iPhone volume low on calls

Very frustrating. The reset didn't help me with my iPhone 8 but I guess you could try it. Others have said Apple blames the carriers (I have Consumer Cellular/AT&T) for this problem, which seems like a total cop out. It would be nice to have a fix but I have gotten used to using the speaker when I make calls. Fortunately, I don't call much, usually text or use messenger.

It’s simply unacceptable. I primarily need a mobile phone to be... a phone! Anything else is a bonus. If I’m paying nearly £1000 for said phone, it had better make very clear phone calls.

Blaming the carrier? So the logic is that carriers all over the world (I’m in the U.K.) suddenly decided to drastically lower call volume exactly corresponding to when individual users upgraded certain handsets to iOS14? Doesn’t sound credible, in my opinion at least.

I am facing the same issue. I am using iPhone 11 pro-MAX 256 GB; the sound was all ok before iOS 14.5.1. Know I can't seem to hear anything on my phone. The volume over the speaker is all ok, but via a normal call speaker, it's very low. I tried the solutions mentioned above, but the results in the same.

For me, the call speaker volume is very low, but when put on speaker, it's fine; using my AirPods pro, it's fine and even tried it with a wired headphone, and it's working fine. The issue is persistent with the call speaker.

Apple help with this issue.

I’m having the same problem and ive tried everything to fix it. At first I thought it was just my phone and it was broken but i started looking it up and I realized everyone is having this problem. Has anyone found a way to fix it? Please fix this apple!!

So will Apple acknowledge this and rectify this issue? It's very frustrating. I literally cannot attend any calls privately and have to be on speakerphone or carry the headphones with me all the time; that itself an inconvenience.

So is Apple just going to not acknowledge that their thousand dollar phones don’t successfully do the ONE main thing a phone is supposed to do??? This is infuriating. I never thought I’d switch from an iPhone but not being able to use my phone as a PHONE is absolutely ridiculous. The first post from this thread is from September 2020 so clearly this isn’t a priority to Apple.

I totally agree its shocking … im in same position and i will be going into the apple store ASAP demanding it be sorted or i will demand and new phone ****** off with it have tae use loud speaker all the time or earphones which is inconvenient 😡

This has been going on for a long time. I had a 6s that eventually did the low volume thing and was so happy (at first) when I replaced it with a new Iphone 8, thinking my 6s issue was a one-off defect. Now my iphone 8 has been doing this for months, and I have tried all the fixes without any luck.

Same issue here on an XS Max. Call volume is very low using headset only. Speaker and AirPods volume is fine. i’ve tried any fix I can find but nothing has helped. has anyone tried to reset all settings?

Apple, I am having same problem in iPhone 7 past 6 months and i didn’t find find any solution for this. Kindly provide me the solution otherwise I may have to change the phone to Android OS.

I am having the same issue. it happens anywhere and only when using the headset. Airpods and bluetooth in my car are fine. Hope there us a fix in the new release and that it cones out soon!

Same issue after updating to ios14. The issue still no resolve with ios 14.2.

Can you please share the solution to this issue?
