Any WiFi router that has MAC filter enabled may not accept the “Private” MAC address feature of the new feature added in iOS 14.0.1 to each WiFi profile saved. Turning off the private Mac Address on the specific WiFi profile may allow your device to connect.
Another issue is it connects fine but moments later it prompts for password on a saved profile. Turning off “wifi assist” in Cellular settings (absolute bottom of the list) will allow the device to remain connected on weaker range areas of this wifi profile.
I suspect the failing over to WiFi profile flip flopping is triggering a false positive on the algorithm that the wifi profile saved is incorrect and thus asks for a re-authentication.

DO NOT JUST try to shut it off. I had the same problem (keep reconnecting) : Remove it! (Delete the app). And please go to 14.1 ASAP. 14.0.1 is indeed full of issues.
Here is a list of issues that were fixed in 14.1:
Lawrence, I updated to 14.2 when it became available. The problem started when we updated our iPhones to iOS 14. It persisted through 14.1, 14.1.1 and now on 14.2. I even reset the iPhone to factory settings and installed 14.2 at Apple's request.
I don't connect to any other Wi-Fi networks except my home network.
I have spent several hours with Apple support over multiple support calls. They ran remote diagnostics on the iPhone hardware and said it was fine. They claimed their software was fine and that I had a crowded Wi-F Channel. They said I should contact my router manufacturer and ISP.
I spent almost two hours on the phone with Cisco/Linksys. They assigned a senior engineer. He logged into my router, he checked software version and settings. He ran hardware diagnostics. He tested Wi-Fi network connectivity and performance from the iMac, iPhone, Windows PC and iPad. He tested through my ISP. I am getting 488 Mbps throughput on the 600Mbps service from Xfinity. He said I do not have an issue with the router hardware or software. My cable modem and ISP service are working great. He said I do NOT have a crowded Wi-Fi Channel. He said the issue appears to be with the iPhone's and iOS 14. He said the iPhone doesn't remember my network, it keeps forgetting my network. Every time the phone comes out of sleep mode, it starts searching for and doesn't connect with my network.
I am absolutely convinced that there is nothing wrong with my Wi-Fi router or network. I have 15 devices - including iMac, two MacBook Pros, 3 iPhones, 2 iPads, an LG TV, one Windows PC, and a couple other devices. Every other device works flawlessly except the three iPhones running iOS 14. We have plenty of bandwidth and typically never use more than 3-4 devices at at one time.
There seems to be an awful lot of iPhone users in the forum with the exact same problem. Several different router manufacturers and several different versions of iPhone. The common denominator seems to be iOS 14.
WPA/WPA2 is NOT a secure choice. You want WPA2(AES), WPA2-PSK(AES), WPA2 Personal, or WPA2-AES/WPA3.
Make sure you have the latest firmware in your router.
And you are correct, that model does not have WPA3.
Lawrence, Here is an update. After my last phone call with Apple Support, they finally gave up and sent me to the Apple Store. They ran diagnostics on the phone at the Store, again. Everything checked out. I was able to reproduce the wi-fi issues for them in the store on the Apple wi-fi network. They said it could not be iOS so they replaced my phone. I came home with the new phone and the exact same problem persists.
I have spent hours with Apple troubleshooting this issue. Through the process of elimination:
It is not my wi-fi network at home. I was able to reproduce the problem in the Apple Store on their network. And the problem only occurs on our iPhones running 14.3. All of our other devices work fine.
It is not my iPhone hardware. They replaced the phone and the problem continues. And it is happening on another iPhone Xr and two iPhone 11's.
The only other option is something that changed with iOS 14.
I had a full hardware reset done on both of my iPhones 8+ and 7 and this solved the problem. So Apple claiming it’s not their fault really annoys me!!! Thank you all for your help/advice and hopefully APPLE SORTS IT OUT SOON!!!!
This worked for me, I hope it works for you. Go to Settings > WiFi and turn off Ask to Join Networks
Deleting a VPN configuration worked for me (after all else failed).
Go to Settings/Wi-Fi and tap on the i next to the network name. Turn off Private Address.
What worked for my 11 pro was to remove all traces of VPN, third party and ios. We have a second iphone 7 with no vpn and there have been no issues.
Good luck,
If you use VPN that is probably the reason. The other possible cause is if you access more than one network with the same SSID (name).

This a problem only Apple can fix.
Which is why Apple released iOS 14.2 two weeks ago to fix it.
That would indicate a local interference problem. Many routers have an option to find the best channel. You might try that. Or switch to the 5 GHz band, which has many more channels.
Yes! It works! But you don't have to import any BackUp. Everything has to be reset from scratch, as if the iPhone were new. Of course, the data in iCloud will be saved instead!

Shut off your iPad and you iPhone will work.
The 14.0.1 problems needs to be addressed now!
I did not upgrade my iPhone to14.0.1
got a new iPad that had the update, and while the iPad was running my cell phone would not connect to Wi-Fi. My iPhone was useless driving my car because my laptop was turned on. So I called my sister to have her shut off my iPad, and my Iphone started working like a champ.
Here! Version 14.1 of iOS is now available. I disabled automatic updates. Right now my new iPhone 11 works great after reinitializing and reinstalling it from scratch. I wonder if I trust Apple! The fear is that with iOS 14.1 ... all wireless connection problems will start again! ....
