Video stuck on “Preparing Video”

I ran into this issue too when I was doing a letsplay on my iPhone 11 Pro with a game that happened to have a 16:9 mode (which I used since not many of my videos that I make are 16:9), and I cropped the vid because it was still the aspect ratio of the 11 Pro (19.5:9), and it ran into this issue as well. The hard reset didn’t work, either. Eventually I looked up for a way to fix this, and when I came back the preparing finished 😅

This kinda really needs a fix, please

iPhone 11 Pro 256gb from late 2019 here. Same issue, the double tap workaround seems to be working if you stay zoomed in and gently tapping the screen again and again to keep it from sleeping/locking. Still, it's going so slow that I never had the time to keep tapping my phone for an hour or so. My video remains unedited for eternity I guess.

Tried a reboot, hard reset and software update to iOS 14.1 and it's still not resolved. Very sad. Citing the apple fan boys "it just works" at this point to emphasize my despair as PC user :D

I had this problem too. If you scroll to the bottom of your photos it will say uploading x amount of photos to iCloud.. the blue line will not be complete, in order for it to complete your phone needs to be on wifi and locked. 5 mins later it was done and the video was no longer being prepared.

I have a solution!

I spent an hour making a video, and making it better, and for nothing ... Then I could even access it !!! Ridiculous!

FIX THIS APPLE!

So you just click EDIT and choose REVERT to revert to the original video, with no effects, plug the cable in a PC (YES APPLE, A FKN PC!) and get the video file from the phone and use a video editor in the PC ... Or try imovie. Im not risking it ...Going straight to Videopad video editor ...

Same thing is happening to me I’m a YouTube creator and on deadline to get some videos up by December first. I just bought the 12 pro Max thinking it was just my old iPhone 8 having the issue and it’s happening on this brand new thousand dollar phone too. I am beyond frustrated. This seems like this should be a basic and easy feature .

I’m using 14.4 public beta .after repeated “prepare video “ trouble, I’ve just restart my iPhone 11 and it completely solved . Apple never disappoints you , May be later but must be better than other OS.

This keeps happening to me too, both on my iPhone and my iPad. It’s annoying because I need to color grade a video, and color grading is not available on iMovie, so I have to do it on the Photos app. But it’s stuck as always. My iPad is very new but it’s doing the same thong

I am having an issue editing videos that might be related. When editing videos on my Iphone 11 it looks like it works but the video is converted to a photo. Photo cannot be edited and has no revert option. Original video is no longer on the phone. Has anybody else experienced this issue or have a fix?

Same problem. I just bought a 12 Pro Max and can't do a thing with videos. I have tried multiple times to edit a video on the phone to change it to black and white (Noir mono option), and it never finishes. I also can't seem to share this video to Dropbox (useless).

And you would think apple would see all of these discussions about it and perhaps fix it... they say maybe iOS 14.4 it would be resolved in but it still hasn’t Im during 14.4 right now and still having this issue months later please hope it gets fixed in 14.5

I had the same issue and thought that it was my fault (Imean I edited the video on my mac using adobe premiere so the video was kinda heavyweight) and that is why it doesn't upload. I used then fastreel to crop the video https://www.fastreel.com/crop-video.html (after the 2-3 months after that attempt) and everything worked out. I think that IPhone just heard your begs.)

This same thing happened to me, I was trying to crop out unwanted borders. Ended up having to crop it little by little instead of all at once. Crop some, then hit done, then go back to edit and crop a little more. Hope this helps!

I’m hitting the same issue described, preparing video stuck at 25%. I’ve tried double tap, hard reset and reboot, but I can’t solve it.

Any other tips or any information about this bug?

I’m trying to edit a 35 minutes 4K 60fps video on IPhone 12 Pro Max 512GB. I have also the last iOS installed.

I am having the same issue right now and it is for a very VERY important thing. I cant believe apple says they have such good phones and will never have an issue and yet this is happening... I tried restarting my phone closing out of the video opening back up and even waiting 20 Minutes!! Im sitting her panicking on this stuff, because I assumed apple would not have these issues.

This is still happening to me too! I have a business and record my videos with my iphone 11. Sometimes it goes fine and transfer right over- other times it is stuck on processing and I cannot do anything with it! This is not only annoying but, it's affecting the production of my business.

APPLE GET ON FIXING THIS I KNOW YOU HAVE ENOUGH DEVELOPERS TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE!
