wifi calling ios 14

After updating to ios 14.01 my wifi calling drops out randomly. Happens with airplane mode on and off. Have done a complete restore twice, disable/enable the feature, and hard reboot. My carrier is Verizon. Anyone else having this kind of issue?

I just got off a long chat with Verizon and learned the following. Cutting and pasting what they told me.

This is a known issue. The alert states:

“Some customers with iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, or iPhone 12 Pro Max may be experiencing issues with making or receiving calls on Wi-Fi calling. Users may also experience drop calls with Wi-Fi calling.”

“Apple is currently working on this issue and will be releasing the fix in an upcoming software update, although we don't have an exact date as to when that update will be released. Some routers broadcast both a 5GHz and 2.4GHz signal. The 5GHz connection will be faster but have a shorter range. Have you tried connecting and using wi-fi calling with both of these signals from your router (if available)?”

Experiencing same issues ... iPhone XR running iOS 14.2 on Verizon network. Internet provider is Xfinity, but using an Eero Mesh network. My home cell service is not good, so need to use WiFi calling ... dropping 3 to 5 calls per day. Verizon indicated it was not their network and dropping from the Internet/WiFi. Eero said I had "too many" Eeros .. which is hard to believe. Any solutions would be appreciated.

I just purchased an iPhone 11 running ios14.2 on the Verizon network and am unable to setup wifi calling. I'll turn it on in settings and then I will check settings a couple minutes later and it will be off. I need wifi calling because I live in a remote area with poor reception. I spoke with apple about it but they said it will turn on when it is needed, but that doesn't seem to be happening. I hope they fix this wifi calling bug with iPhone 11 running ios14.2 soon.

So funny, I talked to support last week and was initially told they had never heard of this issue and it’s my personal WiFi. Then, I sent them this thread, so they said it was a Verizon issue. Verizon says nope. Then, Apple told me it was because the OS on my laptop was Catalina and not Big Sur (... how that affects my phone, which has never been connected to my computer till now, could not be explained). Updated everything per their directions and still dropping calls every 3 to 5 minutes. This update cannot come soon enough — particularly with so many people relying on WiFi calling while working from home during the pandemic.

Hey, Apple, why don’t you at least comment on this thread and let us know you’re working on it???

Having the same issue with an 11ProMax with Dual Carriers At&t / Verizon and Xfinity Wifi with a Xfinity Pod Mesh network.

Calls are dropped without warning. seems to happen when I am talking to other iphones, have not confirmed that yet however as most of my circle uses iphone products. I recently upgraded to a a latest model Xfinity router, im not sure if that has anything to do with the issues but the timeing suggests it might. I work from home these days and this is the most frustrating part of my day as I conduct a lot of phone calls.
