Apple Watch Series 6 not ringing on incoming calls
The watch just updated to 7.0.2 and is now not displaying incoming calls but it is able to make calls? I reset the watch and it is still not working....

Anyone have CarPlay? I found mine stops ringing after a CarPlay connection (mine is wireless) until I reboot my phone - rebooting the watch doesn’t fix it & I only need to reboot the phone not both. After reboot it works fine until the next CarPlay connection.
Hi, I am working at home during the pandemic and driving just 2 or 3 times a week. The problem never happens when I am at home (after restarting the phone when I came home), but happens after I came from driving, not always but most of the time. Also everyone who posted here (including you) uses Carplay.
Thanks for responding. When I sent my reply I didn't realize I was on page 2 of a 10 page thread. i have since read all the responses and have an idea of how to replicate the issue. I too have been WFH during the pandemic but I found the issue to be occurring after a 5 minute drive to get take out. Fingers crossed IOS 14.5 fixes it for good. Stay safe!
I've been going insane over this and did not put two and two together regarding Wireless CarPlay in my BMW. I just erased my Watch and installed as new, also restored... went from iPhone X to 12 Pro Max thinking it would fix it, but it has not. It has been fixed by resetting my phone and watch for a while, but then that stopped correcting the problem. This has been happening for some time it looks like. It's hard to believe there has not been a fix yet.
It would work if I had a single story house with a garage next to it, but it is not possible for me to connect to my home wifi, which is 40 floors above 😂
It is incredible that Apple did not fix the problem for such a long time 😡
Understood. Sorry for my limited thinking on that one.
From how understand it, the problem is the Apple Car Play is not properly disconnecting when you shut off the car, so even though your phone is connected to another network, somehow the watch thinks Apple Car Play is engaged and won't ring when you receive a call. So the temporary solution seems to be to manually disconnect Apple Car Play before shutting off the car. I do that by switching to my home wifi network, but just turning Wifi off in Settings then shutting off the car will get the same result.
I understand wireless CarPlay may have been a big part of the error, but I have been driving less recently, so haven’t thoroughly tested, but since the last iOS 14.5 update and the Watch OS 7.4, it does seem to be working again regularly!
Are you trying to use the Watch on its own, without the paired iPhone nearby? Is the Watch unlocked? Have you tried restarting both the iPhone and the Watch and ensure they are paired?
Thank you for the quick reply. iWatch is unlocked on my wrist and the iPhone is sitting next to me.
Is this happening for all calls, or just from a particular number? If you turn the Watch off, does the call come to the phone?
Any incoming call shows on the phone only. With the watch off the phone functions as normal receiving the calls.
I have the exact issue & tried all the same steps, reboot watch & phone (works for 1 call), re-paired, re-paired & reset - same issue!! Called support not resolved.
Thank you for replying! Over the past several days the my watch will sometimes ring and most times not ring. Appears to be a software issue. Unclear if it is the phone or watch....
Edit - it looks like there is also issue that prevents watch connecting to mac, so you cannot unlock even computer with it 😂 brilliant software update just made iwatch regular watch 🤦😂
My Apple Watch 6 unlocks my MacBook Air on Catalina just fine.
I have the same issue after updating iOS
