AirPods Pro picking up background noise on call

It does work voice isolation mode but only available on FaceTime calls not on normal ones….as far i am aware..

Yes, you are indeed correct, I have had mine even replaced, but its the same issue They are no good for the people on the other side...they are great in cancelling noise for the wearer, but horrible in picking up noise and amplifying for the listener on the other end. Dang it, even Anker's cheap ~$50 earphones works better for conference calls. Apple should engage their word famous software experts to fix this issue and do justice for ~$250 earphones.

I am having the same issue. The beginning of your response verifies that you understand the issue to be the amplified ambient noises heard by the person you are talking to, but you then talk about setting that are related to the user, not the person on the other end of the line. Curious how changes to noise control setting for the user would effect the ambient noise being received on the other end of the line?

I’ve had the same issue. Tried resetting and replacing in the past...it just doesn’t work.

Makes the AirPods Pro unusable outside!!

Original AirPods don’t seem to suffer the same problem, so I’m tempted to make a backward switch - but I’m left with £250 of white plastic lumps.

I’ve tested my apple AirPod pro’ on all three modes and in each case the person on the other side as reported an amplification of external noises from my side of the call. Not only that I seem to be having issues with the airpods dropping connection to the call even when the phone is less that a metre away from the phone (iPhone 11) . This is not what I would expect from this device.

I thought this was just me! I was on the phone with my friend and she said it was like I was wearing a device that was designed to listen in on others conversations. Unusable for phone calls in any environment.

Really not sure why. I have the latest Firmware and they are new since February. Absolute great for general use like listening to music etc. Call quality on my side is fine. But nothing but complaints from those that are receiving the call. Phone is less than a year old as well so it’s strange. I will give everything a hard reset and see what happens

Now you know it’s really bad while you are on a call wearing a $250.00 pair of AirPods Pro while out and about and the person on the other side says, listen call me later because all I hear is loud noises in the background. It makes me so upset to think that apple doesn't have a way to adjust such a modern engineering failure.

In the end I have also decided to send them for repair. I suspect that the problem will not be solved, even if they change them ...

One of the strangest things is that this issue does not occur on all calls. I've been testing audio notes and it doesn't always sound as bad. The sound quality is never very good, but sometimes it is mediocre and sometimes it is terrible for some reason.

Unbelievable, the same thing also happened to me. They refused to offer a replacement. This is truly outrageous. We keep bringing up this flaw but no acknowledgement , no recall, no fix from Apple. How can they get away with this?

Tried everything in all the forums. Left pod only right pod only don’t switch turn off auto sensing turn on auto sensing use tape to cover the black portion check for dust in the mic lick your finger and jump three times while singing baby shark. Nothing works. There is no fix for this.

I’m not certain but it almost seems like it’s a phone software issue. I have this same issue with my AirPod Pro’s as does my girlfriend. And also with a standard Apple physical headset. Both units will pick up and amplify the background noise more than the person speaking.

This was only a temporary fix for me. It's seems to be intermittent now and sometimes great sometimes not.

Some times it seems that if I just tilt my head at a certain angle and jump on one foot it works for a while.

I have the same issue! At first I thought the person on the other end of the line just have my volume way too loud but I have learned this is an issue for everyone I am on the phone with all the time. Samsung users and other Apple iPhone users alike. I love my AirPods Pro so I hope they can come up with a solution. :(

iPhone 12, everything is up to date. Same problem. People on the other end of calls say the noise is unbearable. I cannot use these to make phone calls. How crazy is that? I hope Apple is working on a solution.
