iPhone 12 not getting notifications

I set up my new device, and my notification settings are turned on and the same as my previous phone, but I am not getting notifications on the new device. My old device, connected to Wi-Fi, is getting notifications. Again the settings I checked and they are all the same on both devices.

Can someone please help me to get my notifications?

Thank you

  1. Go to General > iOS Storage.
    • On some older iOS versions, it is called Storage & iCloud Usage.
    • If you select that option, choose Manage Storage on the next page.
  1. Tap the Hangouts app from the list to see how much space the app is taking up
    • It should show how much space is the app itself or just its associated documents and data.
  1. Select Delete App
  2. Confirm it once more to remove the app from your iOS device.
  3. Go to iTunes store and install Hangouts iOS app
  4. Accept all permissions.
  5. Test.
  6. If you still have issues, send in-app feedback from the classic Hangouts app.

Again the only other thing I can offer is to make sure notifications are turned off on your previous iPhone as well as clicking on each app you would like notifications for, I found most of them I had to re-sign in without face ID… I know like somebody said this is a brand new expensive phone and should not have these problems and I couldn’t agree more.

Well I can’t figure out what the heck to do because I had an Android and I reset it and am still facing this issue and for me it is only Facebook marketplace crap. I have logged in and out hundreds times and even reinstalled twice, no change. Even reinstalled the app back on the android and was getting notifications. So bizarre! How could one thing be an issue only on the iPhone 12 series and Apple asked me to call Facebook!

Hello we own a cell phone repair shop, we are noticing this issue a lot with iPhone 12, 12 pro, and 12 pro max. Including with my personal 12 and my wife’s 12 pro max. Notifications are not working. I will receive a text and never be notified, or a message on Facebook, etc. I am hope there will be an update soon. All the settings of the phones I have looked at including my own have all been proper. Matching exactly what our other iPhones had. I checked customers phones and their setting were also proper. This is not a user error. This is a software issue.

This is exactly what is happening to me. I get mixed results when opening individual apps. But not even the messaging app notifications are working correctly. Phone unlocked. get notifications as expected. Sound and vibrations. Phone locked. I get nothing from messaging app. It's frustrating for a brand new 1k phone to not work correctly fresh out of the box.

bought iPhone 12...was getting notifications, yesterday all notifications in iMessage and Facebook Messenger stopped. Email notifications all stuck, open the phone and they come in all at once.

£800 phone and don’t get notifications? As with everyone else, checked all settings and all are correct. Notifications fine on watch and iPad but don’t carry iPad about with me and shouldn’t have to on a nee phone. #helpusouthereapple

I get notifications....but that’s all it says. WhatsApp Notification

Facebook Notification etc

not a brief intro of what the message is or who’s sending it. It just says notification. Seems to occur in Lock Screen. Also wouldn’t let me type in passcode last night after restarting. I literally had to hit each number multiple times before it would register the number. Hitting the number the little dot on passcode digit lit up, but then went out again. Like I say, multiple times before it registered each digit & finally unlocked. Also speaker making funny sounds when notification sounds ping through. Super loud or distorted. And having issues with swipe to unlock working. This is my first Apple without a home button so put it down to unfamiliarity, but with all these other issues, I’m beginning to think my phone is glitched. 😔

This issue is not fixed with 14.2.1. I have tried to reset settings, full reset, complete wipe and restored, complete wipe and set up as a new phone, along with turning off and turning on notifications for each app. After all these steps nothing happened. Apple support is a waste of time as they don’t have a fix but after calling 5x it’s clear that the person helping is having the same issue. I have missed tons of notifications and it has created issues for work.

@Apple Support - Do you guys even know about this discussion page?

I’ve had this problem since buying a new iPhone 12 pro last week. I’m not getting Lock Screen mail notifications. I’ve had a case open with Apple since last Monday and supplied diagnostics and screen shots. I’ve reloaded, rebooted and reset the phone multiple times. I’m awaiting a verdict. It’s an odd, and intermittent problem, I think the phones OK whilst charging (cabled), also discovered the Gmail app is working OK. It was also fine when I set the phone up as new, the problems started again when I restored from a backup. I was more relieved that it looks like a software issue rather than hardware on the phone. Although we did the same process from an iPhone X to 11Pro (reset and restore) and the 11 Pro has been perfect. Hope this helps someone, and can only suggest you try a different email app and see if temporarily it gets you notifications.
