iPhone 12 not getting notifications

I have had this same issue as well. I havent received notifications since I got my 12 and even had one of my friends complain that he had to call me twice to get it to go through. First call always went straight to voicemail, but second one would come through if he called me right back. That got me thinking about the Do Not Disturb function. Even though I have DND turned off it still has the two options for Silence. Either “Always” or “When iPhone Is Locked” and one option has to be selected on the current iOS. Apple needs to fix this function immediately and add a “Never” option or something along those lines. I love my new phone but I do not and will not always keep it unlocked and in my hand waiting for a notification. Thats kinda why we have them setup in the first place.

Please call Apple support and register a case. That’s what I have done on Sunday and since then they have been looking into it. They have fixed Instagram messaging somehow and I think the Apple engineering team is working on it. Would be great if everyone called and register the case. That’s the best option

I didn’t delete anything. I did have to download and log in to every app to get the app set up on the new phone. Just like others, my old phone was getting notifications. Hope this helps. Apple also recommends turning IPhone off to reset after changes or downloading the apps.

I wouldn’t delete any apps. My wife’s phone is not getting notifications and all she has done is updated to iOS 14 it’s not a phone issues it’s software.

mans I can’t delete my message app and re install it plus apps I’ve installed recently I wasn’t getting any notifications.

all I’ve worked out so far is if you turn your Bluetooth off and all notifications work again

I am just an new Iphone 12 owner since yesterday. I sought a solution to notifications online and found a few clues. I opened every application and logged in for the first time on the new phone. Then I turned Bluetooth on and off a couple of times. Then I turned the phone off a couple of times. Eventually, I began to get messages, Nest notifications, and notifications from other apps. I also had notifications showing up on the old phone through WIFI connection.

About 5 hours after I got home, my 12 was working as it should. Good luck; hope this helps you.

Having to do all this stuff is a joke. Apple need to fix this end of. Anything I have tried it still happens deleted the phone logged in and out etc only thing that works for me to get notifications for all apps to to make sure my phones is not connected to any blue tooth devices

1. Go to General > iOS Storage.

• • On some older iOS versions, it is called Storage & iCloud Usage. 
  • If you select that option, choose Manage Storage on the next page.

1. Tap the Hangouts app from the list to see how much space the app is taking up 

• • It should show how much space is the app itself or just its associated documents and data.

1. Select Delete App
2. Confirm it once more to remove the app from your iOS device.
3. Go to iTunes store and install Hangouts iOS app
4. Accept all permissions.
5. Test.
6. If you still have issues, send in-app feedback from the classic Hangouts app.

And you are running the latest software? iOS 14.2?

Did you turn off wrist detection on your watch?

I’ve had this problem since buying a new iPhone 12 pro last week. I’m not getting Lock Screen mail notifications. I’ve had a case open with Apple since last Monday and supplied diagnostics and screen shots. I’ve reloaded, rebooted and reset the phone multiple times. I’m awaiting a verdict. It’s an odd, and intermittent problem, I think the phones OK whilst charging (cabled), also discovered the Gmail app is working OK. It was also fine when I set the phone up as new, the problems started again when I restored from a backup. I was more relieved that it looks like a software issue rather than hardware on the phone. Although we did the same process from an iPhone X to 11Pro (reset and restore) and the 11 Pro has been perfect. Hope this helps someone, and can only suggest you try a different email app and see if temporarily it gets you notifications.

This isn’t going to help much, but try setting up one phone from new manually, with no restore, update to the latest IOS from iTunes if at all possible and see what happens. I’m debating whether to resort to this, when I tried it before notifications were coming through OK. Also, can you use a different mail client, Google Mail maybe? It is working for me, and I’m putting all my mail accounts on it. I agree with you, and after years of new iPhones this is the first time I’m rather disappointed with a brand new phone and wishing I’d stayed with my 11 Pro! If I get any feedback from Apple I’ll post here.

If you haven’t already done so, call Apple and open a case the more people that call the faster this gets fixed. This is a great forum to share knowledge and possibly find work arounds but this is definitely an iOS bug that needs Apple to fix.

I’m having the same issue...I’m not getting YouTube notifications for uploads and I’m not getting notifications for Instagram messages. It’s only been doing this since I got the 12 pro. All of the settings in the phone are correct.
