iPhone 12 Pro Overheating

Haven’t seen much on this yet and was curious if anyone out there with either an iPhone 12 or 12 Pro is experiencing any overheating issues. I had major overheating problems while setting up the iPhone which isn’t too out of the norm. However the overheating issues have seemed to persist since getting the phone set up. The backup is fully restored so there shouldn’t be much background activity occurring. I’m also experiencing abysmal battery life as well, along side the drastic overheating. I do tend to favor 5G On over 5G Auto as I live in an area with a pretty expansive sub6 5G network. But either way the phone is still prone to overheat under minimal load. I also have been experiencing an occasional flicker on the screen which is something I haven’t seen on any apple oled panels before. Like I said I haven’t seen many forums or posts anywhere about this issue so thought I would reach out to the community and see if anyone is experiencing anything similar!

But only using one app for less than 15 minutes (e.g. reading the news) and the device overheating to the point that it’s too hot to touch is not normal. I have been told borh by the reaeller and Apple Support that this device needs to be repaired. I suggest everyone who experience inreasonable overheating woth their iPhone 12 Pro return it to be repaired or replaced. This is surely a manufacturing error, something’s wrong with a batch of devices.

Hello Friend,

The device (so called iPhone 12pro) gets heated above 44 degree centigrade and no warning still showing from apple built in sensor .

Do you expect us to wait till boiling point (100 degree centigrade) for the buit in sensors to wake up!!

its definitely an manufacturing defect!!

May be some people may be comfortable to hold a device which such overheating in very mild usage..( just remove your case and try to hold and feel the hot plate effect..

it’s an overheating iPhone 12 Pro-

Now please don’t tell that its a added feature to fight the winter.

there is a lot of difference between the term warm and overheating.. how simply you have said it without experiencing the same ( may be your device is okay)

I am really facing overheating issues on my iPhone 12 Pro..

It does happen with other models. Mine is an iphoneX which was a perfect phone for 1.5 years until the upgrade to iOS14. Now it’s a piece of junk. Overheating 44Centigrade just charging or checking mails most background activities already stopped etc. Hot enough to get tour ear burnt when you talk on the phone. FaceID stopped working keep telling me I have to wait until the phone has cooled down. But I get this message when the phone is hot as well as when the phone is cold. Not anywhere will you see a post that someone solved the issue or used Apple support or genii is bar and had it fixed.

Do you have proof of that 44ºC from a thermometer?

You’re closer to the truth than you realize.

The processor in the iPhone 12 family is the most powerful and capable of all iPhones yet and yes, that means heat generation.

Likewise its larger battery can mean more heat when charging.

Trust the phone to shut down if it gets too hot and unless it does don’t worry about what you consider overheating based upon older, less capable devices.

I feel like to return this phone very uncomfortable. I never had this issue on previous iPhones.

My IPhone 12Pro , got this in November and from March, it started getting hot while I take photo and while talking.

so, I believe it’s a software related issues which is possible to be resolved by Apple.

but battery drainage is awful. Even when lm not using this , battery drops...with full usage, unable keep the battery for more than 6 to 7 hours.

I have purchased iPhone 12pro from India .

Apple has just given c type cable . So taken the 20w c type adapter. While charging I observed the adapter is too hot and seen the phone is also too hot. I am doubtful on it , When I asked vendor he has suggested switch off net while charging. I tried that still the issue is same. it charge too fast in 20 min it completed almost 80 percentage however It’s too hot adapter as well as mobile.

I tried charging using my dell latitude laptop it also charge fast and no heat . Mobile get charged without heat issue.

Apple has to look in to it or else phones may get damaged or should ask to use small adapter or so

please help me to understand this.

Thanks.
