iPhone 12 Pro Overheating

now i am very much observing the phone when its getting warm , its really happening while couple of minutes after usage of some apps like news reading apps then i stop using this apps and browse other things suddenly phone become cool .... why its happening for that particular app ?

Your phones battery is working harder when playing videos, so heating up is normal. And if your phone is covered by blankets or pillows how would you expect any heat to dissipate at all? Don't wrap a phone in blankets or pillows when it's being driven harder. That's just common sense, to be honest.

Same thing happening with mine. Took it to Apple and they said put a case on it if it’s too hot to hold and refused to exchange it. They will probably start catching fire and then they will have to recall all of them. Apple has really gone downhill.

Just put my iPhone 12 on a wireless charging pad. It is fairly hot when I picked it up an hour later. The phone is in an otter box defender series case.

what is going on ? First I was on Verizon and experienced dropped calls all day long. I switched to T-Mobile and the dropped calls stopped. Now it’s overheating. This iPhone 12 has been a nightmare.

Thanks for the info, unfortunately I accidentally set it up as a new phone and had to pull all my info from the cloud and manually install all my old apps. Also my battery only lasts about 4 hour on a full charge. Maybe I need to swap out the phone.😩

My iphone 12 pro is overheating without being on a charger at all. I am unable to use the flash and receive message that phone must cool down before flash can work. I have not charged it in 12hrs. Apple, I think you need to do a recall on the 12. I own both a 12 and a 12 pro.

I was using my iPhone 12 Pro Max while I was driving I was on the video app Hangout for 15 mins then my phone heated up and shut the program down.

The phone then went into inoperable mode

for a few mins then came back on with limited accessibility.

Is there something wrong with my phone I need to know I’ve only gotten it for three weeks

My new iPhone 12pro is also overheating fast, I’m browsing the web or using iFunny app and it starts overheating quick, my previous iPhone XR I could do the same thing for hours and it didn’t overheat, anyone having similar issues?

I just Purchased the IPHONE 12 2weeks ago and I’m glad I’m not alone, my phone is overheating while using it started the first week and it’s progressively getting worse. It looses its charge after a few hours, I couldn’t believe how fast my XR8 would last 2 days. The overheating while charging is scaring me it’s Burning up. I hope my phone doesn’t Blow up. I think I will call Apple and see if I can get some answers or Possibly get a different Phone Because this is Definitely NOT Normal.

It is the same thing with me, I bought my iPhone 12 Pro on 9th Dec 2020, it costed me $1627 as I am from India.

I moved from iPhone 6 to 12Pro after 6yrs. I see a lot of difference in heating. I iPhone 6 still does not heat so much even after 6yrs of aggressive usage.

Is it because I transferred my old sim from iPhone 6 to 12 Pro?

I am noticing the same issue. My new iPhone is inexplicably heating up to quite an alarming temp. Even on the charger more so. I don't expect this sort of issue considering what the phones cost and given previous versions were fine?

It’s my third day of using iphone 12 pro but my phone is getting hot and getting hang while using my teams app and doesn’t respond my typing there is one more prblm when i put my phone on charge its get too hot while using and after somewhile its start getting cold and then hot again

Lobsterghost I just came from IPhone 11 and playing games didn’t make it where I can’t hold my phone because it’s so hot, so how is this normal operation? If it needs to heat up this much then they need to insulate the phone.

Mine runs hit and bring up a message that says Iphine is too hot and needs to cool down and I need to click power button to shut down the phone because it does not function until it cools down now I’m wondering after reading a lot of threads is this a design slaw a software flaw what is @APPLE fix this ASAP.

My phone IS overheating. What makes me think so.... I gets very hot. I've never had a phone get that hot with just the display on for a while. I've also had my phone shut itself off due to heat. So yes it is overheating.
