iPhone 12 Pro Overheating

Dear iPhone Memebers,

Very Poor response from Apple service team!

With reference to iPhone 12 Pro overheating issue. Today had an appointment with apple genius service desk at dubai mall.

Have bitter experience from them, as per the apple the device overheating is a normal thing due to new chipset and is not accepting the defect of the product.

They simply restore the software and returned the product.

The device is still in same condition as before.

Its gets heated to above 42.9 centigrade on usage of camera for even 15 minutes and becomes very difficult to hold the device during that time.

As per the apple genius service staff , they suggested me to buy an apple silicon case from them , when I said it’s difficult to hold the phone during overheating in-order to hold the phone during overheating., as a solution. ( like using a glow to take hot utensils from microwave)

Hello, I just bought an iPhone 12 and I seem to be having the same issues. The phone was heating up while it downloaded the latest IOS version. It also heats up within a few minutes of continuous usage. I have been using an iPhone X previously and never experienced such an issue. Please let me know if there is a solution to this.

All the cell phones that were made in the pandemic showed defects. There is no other way to explain so many problems and mistakes. And those who know do the trick and do not talk to customers who gave 1200 to 1500 €.

By the “same thing” you mean the phone shut down and displayed a message saying the phone was overheating? That is the definition of “overheating”. If that didn’t happen the phone didn’t overheat.

I don’t think it’s a hardware problem at all I don’t have a iPhone 12 I have the iPhone 7 and mine has been doing this since iOS i4 and it didn’t do it until iOS 14 and I’m still having problems even at iOS 14.4 not getting better all problems everyone is mentioned I have had the same problems if you talked to apple support they could tell you how much complaints I have done it’s been to apple twice been to Best Buy 5 or 6 times now been to t-mobile to many times to count spoken to assurant insurance to many times they told me they have been getting lots of complaints I’m upgrading to Samsung once I can I have to leave phone plugged in because even when not in use this phone now goes to like to 80% battery while not in use they replaced the battery just FYI many times they replaced the whole phone battery life is 100%

I have ios14.4 in my iPhone 11 never faced any heating issues. I play lot of high end games like call of duty, grid auto sport, gta San Andreas etc on daily basis and also watch Netflix on my iPhone and literally no issues at all. So I don’t think it’s the issue with iOS.

I just posting a question relating to freeze my iphone 12 mini after I go out. The phone is hot. I don't know if it calls overheating but it looks not normal than usual handphone. I just bought it last month and experiencing twice of freezing after I go out.

bought my iphone 12 about six months ago and started experiencing overheating issues about a month ago. It gets so hot it turns itself off about three times a day (with use limited to calls or checking emails). I have also started experiencing that it refuses to charge, stating that there is “liquid” (when I know for a fact it has not been exposed to water). Very frustrating.

I have the 12pro max and i came from Google pixel 3 xl. I've had this phone for acting a month now and I'm very unsatisfied with the poor performance. I'll play 2-3 games of c.o.d. Mobile and with all the screen dimming settings off even on battery settings the screen brightness cuts to half with no ability to make it brighter. It's extremely annoying especially after finally make the change to Apple. Needless to say I'm living in regret. Apple is a trap and master marketer with an inferior product and i wish i stayed with Google.

Experiencing the same issue, just got the 12 Pro, let it start up and sync and during that it was gettin really hot. Quick google search brought me here. Im having issues with the wireless charger as well. Seems to heat up while on that. Charges extremely slow, and will disconnect after already started charging without touching the thing. Extremely disappointed, right out the box :(

I just got the Iphone max and it’s constantly getting hot I had it just sitting in my pocket and it was getting hot on a drive

also just laying on my bed it got hot

not pleased with it over all went from 7 to a 12

Take my 7 any day had no issues

Well, overheating in a sense that it’s getting hotter that it should in the normal use.

when we say it’s overheating we don’t mean it’s about to explode. If you can feel your phone heat in your palm, or pocket it’s mean it getting hot. We don’t have heating measuring device in our hand or pockets so we could measure exactly it’s warm or it has crossed 1 degree above than warm falling in hot criteria. I’m sorry if I offend you

Do you have the design specs? How do you know what "should in the normal use" is?

Don't compare it to past iPhones, it's a completely different device, that's like saying you know what kind of mileage your new car "should" get because you owned one of the same model several years back.

Sorry my mistake, I did t know there are very experience people here in this forum.

now I know I can’t compare this phone with the old phone because Apple has fitted A JET ENGINE in it. So it get warm only and keep safe from bitter winter. I should be grateful to Apple for providing extra feature for the same price of an IPHONE.

I almost exclusively charge wirelessly and have never had it fail except on third party Qi chargers that have the coil alignment issues mentioned earlier.

Pucks and MagSafe have charged 100% perfectly all the time, though some heat will always be generated due to the way Qi charging physically works.
