iPhone 12 Pro Overheating

we know it’s overheating because it literally gets so hot it’s almost hard to hold. I woke up and grabbed my phone to check it and it was literally so hot I had to turn it off for an hour and wait until it cooled down and I wasn’t even on it at all to begin with.

I am also experiencing overheating on my iphone 12 pro max. Especially when doing video or charging. Hope they will fix this one or replaced the unit as this is uncommon to apple users also given the price this should have been the perfect apple ever had.

People have different tolerances to heat and cold. Some experience discomfort holding a slice of pizza from the oven while many people who work in plastic injection molding facilities can handle pieces fresh from the mold.

Regardless, the iPhone does have internal sensors which will turn it off to cool should it get too hot, long before it reaches a temperature where it could cause injury.

iPhone burnt down. My phone overheats much less now but here the article. Support what can we do to prevent this? I already have my iPhone without a case for extra ventilation

Well, removing all old apps did nothing to help resolve the issue with overheating and the screen dimming. I can’t do anything with this device, it just instantly starts heating up and dims down!

I’ve really had it with this back and forth! This device just isn’t working and all the advice I’m given that is supposed to fix the issues is worth nothing.

I am extremely disappointed. I’ve had enough of this.

Same exact issue, seems to not be improving with the upgrades and updated software. Whatever I do on the phone it begins overheating, and within seconds it's extremely hot to the touch. Will be returning the phone if the problem persists with no solution out there.

Actually, the don't ALL do it. We have iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Max, neither of which have had ANY heating issues. I can stream music for hours on my phone and it never gets warm at all.

My phone overheard while playing a game. I’m not charging if, all my background refresh is turned off & my phone gets extremely hot & turns off on its own w/ an image of a red thermometer. I close all my apps & it’s still dis this. Lemon or is it just that iPhone 12 is a lemon?

Mine is exactly the same except mine started just a few weeks after I got it in November. I am on my third phone (one replaced by Verizon and then the latest replaced by Apple a few days ago) and it is the same issue still.

Don’t worry about the temperatures, the phone will shut itself down if it gets too hot.

Me too suffering of the same overheating problem on my iphone 12 pro device.

Even after the device replacement also the same problem continues- Request Apple to recall all the device immediately and needs to do some effective solution for this.

For me why i choose apple is because of its Perfection - and smooth hardware and software collaboration:

But this time with 12 pro its turned opposite, and i feels the premium feels offered at apple store were disappearing now a days. No empathy towards us when we approach the stores for warranty repairs - feels like the trust on apple is decenting:☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️

I’m positive it’s the software because I’m getting the same issues since iOS 14 on the iPhone 7 I’m just bidding my time till I can upgrade to Samsung fan edition I think been a phone user for a long time

If you think Samsung makes a better phone, by all means go buy one. This is a user to user only forum and we really don't care what phone you think best meets your needs. I won't ever own a Samsung phone personally. No iPhone has ever exploded on an airplane, but Samsung not only did, the entire series had to be recalled.

Completely unrelated, but I just bought a new home and had to choose all new appliances. My last home had all Samsung appliances. The refrigerator ice-make had to be replaced every 3 - 4 months. The washing machine was recalled because it could explode. The microwave died just out of warranty. The dishwasher leaked and the seal had to be replaced multiple times. The gas range didn't have any issues. Needless to say, I didn't buy Samsung appliances for my new home.

Well, it’s not normal that you actually CAN’T watch videos or make video calls with this device, because the overheating activates forced dimming of the screen as a precaution measure – and then you really can’t see what you are trying to watch!

I got same issue and seems apple not fixing this or is it a hardware issue. today I was using 3 or 4 apps. 9gag, a online radio station and app tracks data usage. while browsing 9gag my screen went from normal to most dimmed screen in matter of seconds and side of iphone 12 pro max next to the camera was really hot. these app should not be any issue as I used them for so long on my old Iphone 7 for years with out issues.

Also using camera causes extreem heat at same point on the phone.

is my phone faulty? is just something apple hopefully fix soon? bought my phone off my cell network provider. if its faulty should I got to them or trough apple store?
