iPhone 12 Pro Wireless Charging Issues

I picked up the iPhone 12 Pro yesterday, and I can't get wireless charging to work properly. I have two Qi charging pads, both from different manufactures, and the 12 pro will only charge from them if it's been freshly rebooted. If I take the phone off the pad, and then place it back on the pad, it will not charge again unless I reboot the phone. The pads charge my Xs and my Galaxy S9, so they're not the problem. Anybody else having issues with wireless charging on the 12 pro?

I love it when someone who recently joined the forum with 4 points, tells someone who has been on the forum for over a decade and knows the forum managers personally, what Apple does or doesn't do here.

You are wrong. The people you hope are reading your posts are NOT here. If you want to tell Apple your thoughts where it will be heard you should do one or more of the following:

  1. Provide feedback via this link --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Call Apple
  3. Use the Contact Support button at the top of this page
  4. Schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and show them the issue you're having

Otherwise, it is you who is wrong about Apple paying attention here.

Same problem here, brand new 12PRO simply doesnt charge on both mophie mat charger. As suggested rebooting helps just for a little while then it goes on and off. An italian site address this matter to the new release of IOs but also to some hardware component. It is also true Apple officially said mag safe charge are optimized to better charge your phone ....

Anyhow the solution that get the phone charging process lasting longer is to place the phone on tha mat when the display is on.

If paused or on block mode it will simply not charge at all.

let's hope in patch that will fix the issue at the soonest.

Ciao

Knock on wood, but ever since I did the volume up, down, then power off- it seems to work with my wireless charger. I keep wondering if the new 12’s need a 15watt charger??? Some of these older wireless chargers are only 10 at the most. The charger I have is a 10watt, and it takes all night to charge it, but it does get the job done. And I do have a thicker Otter box case.

I’m having the same problems, I have charging pads that worked great with my 11Pro Max, that now work sporadically with my new 12 Pro Max. I woke up this morning to a half charged phone this morning. I now will plug the cord in every night until this is resolved. I need my phone fully charged in the morning for work. Thank goodness I had a battery charger with me today.

I have a Mophie pad and it charges then stops. Sometimes right away, other times it will charge for awhile then stop. Battery power doesn’t seem to have an effect. I think this i12 pro has only fully charged once via wireless. It’s not the pads per se, but the interface from pad to phone. It’s an Apple problem, hopefully one they get ironed out real fast

That's not going to happen. There are simply too many variables with too many wireless chargers on the market. Some are being used with QC3.0 bricks, many are not and they should be QC3.0. Some chargers are single charging plate, while others are dual charging plates. Too many variables. The phones work with Qi chargers as long as the Qi chargers is outputting enough power to work on iPhone 12 and the charging plate corresponds to the location on the iPhone 12 to transfer power. Some people haven't update to 14.2 either, which they need to do because the update did address this issue as best it can given not all chargers are the same.

I had this problem with one of the chargers we had, so I bought new chargers and it was the charger, not the phone. Now with these new chargers (really cool, BTW., as they charge our phone, Apple Watch and another plate for 5W earbud cases), the phones charge immediately and continue charging all night long.

You likely need to get a better charger.

In case you're interested, this is what I bought two of (we have iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Max and two Apple Watches) --> https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B083S8418Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
