iPhone 12 Pro Wireless Charging Issues

I picked up the iPhone 12 Pro yesterday, and I can't get wireless charging to work properly. I have two Qi charging pads, both from different manufactures, and the 12 pro will only charge from them if it's been freshly rebooted. If I take the phone off the pad, and then place it back on the pad, it will not charge again unless I reboot the phone. The pads charge my Xs and my Galaxy S9, so they're not the problem. Anybody else having issues with wireless charging on the 12 pro?

Bring it back and exchange it - there are many people who claim this is a software problem, but the question is why isn't all iPhone 12 Pro phones having this issue? They've sold many of these phones and you'd think there would be thousands of complaints by now online.

I did two hard resets and nothing improved. It never charged wirelessly for me. I put it on a Qi compliant Mophie puck and another Qi charger and the same thing happens. It charges for a second and then stops.

I contacted Apple support and they said to bring it back and that it was not a software bug. Not that I expect Apple to admit it but if it is not a software bug then you'll be very sorry that you did not exchange it within the warranty period. Make sure you at the very least document this with Apple Support before your exchange period expires.

Think about it this way, for the phone to charge in most wireless chargers in-car, the phone has to lay down flat. Even with CarPlay, there are times you want to interact directly with the phone. That's very difficult to do if the phone is laying flat. I use a Weather Tech Cup Phone holder for my 12 Pro Max (plugged in of course), which let's me touch the phone's screen if I need to more easily.

I have the iPhone 11Pro Max and a 2019 Kia Sorento and my phone does not charge wirelessly either. I also had a problem with connecting to CarPlay which no one could tell me why. My daughter suggested that I buy a new certified iPhone charging cord which was a lot more expensive than just buying a regular charging cord but it did fix my problem. The only issue I have with iPhone charging cords is they do not last no matter how well you take care of them and for the price they charge for their certified iPhone charging cords they should last forever. Not just a couple months. Apple: You should be ashamed at yourselves for charging so much for your crappy made accessories. Especially the charging cords that are junk.

For the price of iPhones you should not also have to buy a case to protect your phone. I bought the iPhone 11 Pro Max one year ago and it’s been having all kinds of weird problems front the start. I paid cash for my phone but iPhone would not replace my phone unless I allowed them to place a $1200 hold for 10 days on my bank card. I do not know about everyone out there but most people either do not have $1200 or can not have a 10 day hold on $1200 especially to replace something I just bought that wasn’t working properly. I even told them I’d drop the phone off at an Apple store that day. When they got confirmation then send me a new phone. They refused. I have always love Apple up until then. I spent over $1200 on this phone and I’m stuck with a dud.

Previously, I noticed if my phone was down to 10% or less, the Belkan wireless charger would not charge. And this happened for weeks, then suddenly it charges at all levels. I can't say if I had an update, but I'm ok now. I did take my charger into T-Mobile and of course they said it was the charger. After playing with it, they saw the charger would charge all phones they had to test with (but not an iPhone). They then said, it's the expensive phone case they sold me. Nope, with or without the case on, it would not charge. I have the iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max. Same issue with both, but as stated, they both now charge. Dunno.

Folks, this is ridiculous to say the least. This is NOT a

charger issue. This is an Apple issue!!!

What the heck are you doing about it Apple???

We spent $1000.00 for the iPhone12 and it can wireless

charge… REALLY???

People, this is Apple’s issue not our chargers. They

are NOT remediating the problem. Maybe it’s just me, but everyone should be

fired up about this!!!!!!!!!!

The issue is bigger than that. They aren't fixing it and we

all paid for a phone that will NOT wireless charge. It's like buying a new car

and it will not steer. When we complain, the manufacturer says "yes, but

it drives in a straight line very well"

Apple does NOT care about those of us who have this issue

because they know many of us will NOT switch to droid or google phones because they

are junk. So it leaves us stuck. These issues did not happen when Steve Jobs

was alive. He would’ve DEMANDED that they fix the issue PRIOR to releasing it

even if it meant delaying the release date.

This is not the same company as it once was.

Get used to it everyone, it’s the new Apple way!

You don't mean the same Steve Jobs who told the world they were holding their phone wrong and whose solution was to give people a free bumper? You must be speaking of a completely different Steve Jobs. It's funny how he's been elevated into Sainthood when he was nothing of the sort.
