iPhone 12 Pro Wireless Charging Issues

I picked up the iPhone 12 Pro yesterday, and I can't get wireless charging to work properly. I have two Qi charging pads, both from different manufactures, and the 12 pro will only charge from them if it's been freshly rebooted. If I take the phone off the pad, and then place it back on the pad, it will not charge again unless I reboot the phone. The pads charge my Xs and my Galaxy S9, so they're not the problem. Anybody else having issues with wireless charging on the 12 pro?

I love it when someone who recently joined the forum with 4 points, tells someone who has been on the forum for over a decade and knows the forum managers personally, what Apple does or doesn't do here.

You are wrong. The people you hope are reading your posts are NOT here. If you want to tell Apple your thoughts where it will be heard you should do one or more of the following:

  1. Provide feedback via this link --> Feedback - iPhone - Apple
  2. Call Apple
  3. Use the Contact Support button at the top of this page
  4. Schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar and show them the issue you're having

Otherwise, it is you who is wrong about Apple paying attention here.

I have the same charging puck from Mophie (Qi compatible) and without a case it still will not charge my iPhone 12 Pro. Same thing happens. The charging symbol appears for two seconds and then stops at which point the Mophie charger just blinks.

My replacement phone comes Wednesday. Verizon Wireless had to order it. This is the very reason I only bought the S versions of previous phones. They had the bugs worked out by then.

For people on this thread. Please work with Apple support and make sure your case is logged/forwarded for escalation, it's the only way to get Apple's attention as people mentioned above.

I also contacted Mophie and their support confirmed that they received lots of complains about their chargers not working with iPhone 12 anymore and their product team is looking into it.

I just got done chatting with Apple support and got no where now he says Apple will call me from the phone department. I kept telling him it’s not my chargers that are the problem! Ugh I’m getting so frustrated! It’s like they think we’re making this crap up! I just want my brand new iPhone 12 to work like it should. I shouldn’t have to buy a MagSafe charger just to charge my iPhone when all of other charging pads Belkin, Samsung, Tylt...all work perfectly with other iPhones and my last iPhone 11 Pro Max.

I can’t imagine a hardware issue it’s very confusing some people say they solved by resetting network settings or use a new cigarette lighter plug (you tube video guy) Some say a phone re-start some are so confused about what we are talking about they talk about charging cables.

that said on this blog I doubt we will get a fix. I do have a stand up charger that works just fine but my car charging pad no love. If I line up perfect I get five minutes and then it’s done.

I almost want to go back to the iPhone 11 Pro but I do enjoy the extra RAM and processing speeds.

I will continue to read in hopes we find a solution. Apple techs have zero answers.

preordered my iPhone 12 Pro 128GB at 5:00 am on 10/16/20. Received it on 10/23/20. Put the same case on it that I’ve used with my X, XS Max and 11 Pro (UAG Monarch) and attempted to use the same Samsung Wireless Fast Charger I’ve used with all of them. It would light up, then start blinking. Tried it with a slimmer case. Nope. Tried it without a case. Nope. Bought 2 different wireless chargers. Nope. Received a replacement device today. Still doesn’t wirelessly charge.

Unbelievable.

I’m not sure why this keeps going in circles. People need to start reading the comments! THIS IS NOT A HARDWARE ISSUE. If you can use 2 out of 5 wireless QI chargers it’s NOT HARDWARE. It’s NOT the charger. ITS THE SOFTWARE. My phone charges on a stand up one. It charges on a flat one that’s built into my car. The mophie stream pad + (puck) it doesn’t work. Same for my brother. This is a SOFTWARE issue and needs to be addressed by apple.
