iPhone 12 Pro Wireless Charging Issues

iOS 14.2 will fix the problem by the looks of it

Has anyone tried shutting off the Optimized Battery Charging to see if that works??

OK.....do you have a thicker case on your phone, like perhaps an OtterBox?

I am having the same problem. Iphone 12 pro wont charge, ipad pros and older 8 will. Iphone 12 pro does charge on my anker car mount. I bet its the magnets for mag safe charging. Old phone had a magnet for hands free driving and it would never qi charge.

the charger in my car is more powerful than the one by my bed hence it will charge this phone. Atleast that is my assumptions at the moment.

I’m having the exact same problem. I got two IPhone 12 pros and the wireless charging does not work all the time. What I do is disconnect the wireless charger connect back and place my phone carefully and I don’t grab it after that

For people on this thread. Please work with Apple support and make sure your case is logged/forwarded for escalation, it's the only way to get Apple's attention as people mentioned above.

I also contacted Mophie and their support confirmed that they received lots of complains about their chargers not working with iPhone 12 anymore and their product team is looking into it.

If you haven’t contacted Apple support yet that would be a good thing to do, both to see if they have any ideas, and also to log the fact that this is a common problem. There’s a link at the top of this page, or install the Apple Support app on your phone.

Turning the 5G off didn’t make any difference to me. Neither does the hard restart. It Still connects fine but after 20 odd seconds just seems to disconnect from the charger as it was previously. Went back into the Apple service store last week and the technician blames the charging pad despite it working fine on all older phones and AirPods. He grumbled something about it being weird that it stop charging, but then tried it on a newer fast charge mophi pad and it worked without disconnecting. Said it was probably the low power output from my Qi pad that was causing the issue.

Still doesn’t explain why it works fine on my work XR or my wife’s 11

Or, you can just get a newer Wireless Charging, like I've recommended above several times and others have already gotten, which absolutely, positively, consistently charge our phones.

I also have a 12 mini that would not charge, I pulled out an old Chocolate, one of the first Qi pads and sure enough the phone is charging. Seems like a serious flaw since iPhone X and 11 charge fine on 15W

There are some major issues here. I actually returned my iPhone 12 Pro to exchange it for another one. It did make a difference on some chargers.

My first iPhone 12 Pro would not charge on any of my wireless chargers and all are Qi certified and work with the iPhone X and XS models I had before. This included two different Uniolabs wireless charging stands, one Mophie wireless charging puck and one TaoTronics desk lamp with a wireless charger built-in.

The iPhone 12 Pro I got in the exchange charges on both of the Uniolabs charging stands in both a vertical and horizontal position. It still does NOT charge on the Mophie wireless charging puck or TaoTronics lamp stand even though both are Qi certified. I've tried many different positions too.

Bottom line, Apple hasn't even acknowledged there is a problem with wireless charging. So many countless hours have been wasted by consumers to troubleshoot a brand new iPhone and its inability to do something that has been standard in the mobile phone industry for quite a while. They knew this before they released it too - make no mistake about that.

I had no problems until this last week (received on launch day), both 12 pros on 14.2, both quit charging wirelessly on numerous chargers (2 Belkins, 2 Ankers). I rebooted and they started working again.

I have the same problem, the wireless part on my phone is not working. I thought it was my wireless charger becasue is not apple, so I when ahead and purchase the mag safe charger and it doesnt work either, so Im guessing is the phone, not the charger....

I have iphone 12 pro max and otterbox defender case. The only charger which has no problem charging it is a choetech dual fast wirless charger, 5 coils Qi certified avaliable for $28 on Amazon. As someone else mentioned none of the old chargers like samsung wireless 2018 model work on this phone/case combination.

I don't believe smack dab in the middle of the phone in previous phones. With MagSafe, the charging coil moved. And that I believe is what is causing a lot of the charging issues people are having with chargers which worked just fine with phones before iPhone 12.
