iPhone 12 Pro Keyboard sounds, notifications and lock sounds volume low

Anyone else having issues with volume of notifications, keyboard sounds and even the lock sound being barely audible? The only thing I haven't done is reset the phone. I set it up from an iCloud backup and I didn't have this issue on my XS. If I restart the phone, it goes to normal volume for a moment then back to being quiet again. Sometimes I am not getting notification sounds at all.

Happps, and everyone else please try this fix. I just purchased the iPhone 12 Mini and was having this exact issue that Happps is having and going into Settings > Accessibility > Audio/Visual > and DISABLING "Phone Noise Cancellation" This fixed my issue with the sound. Hopefully this works for everyone else. This is definitely a bug with noise cancellation.

Hello! I’ve had this same issue for weeks and finally just fixed it for myself. I hope this helps some more people out there with the same troubles!

I started by going to Settings>Face ID & Passcode>Attention Awareness Features. I turned this off since it warns of adjusting volumes automatically by detecting movement, which I’m sure initially was to help protect the customers hearing.

I then went to Settings>Sounds & Haptics>Ringers & Alerts. I switched off change volume with buttons, then dragged the volume bar all the way to silent, then dragged it all the way back up(you should hear your ringtone while doing this), and then turned change with buttons back on. I did this 3 days ago and haven’t had a single low volume alert issue since. Hope this helps!!

Upgrade: I sent my 12 mini back due to that issue (during my time of usage I’ve contacted for several times with the Polish Apple Support and even the guy which was proceeding my case on the support side told me to sent it back till I have such possibility and also told me that there is no possible fix announced due to that issue (this information of course he has delivered from the apple’s engineers)). I was still able to sent it back to apple, since 14 days haven’t passed yet since I bought it. If any of you has such possibility then I would recommend you to do it.

I found that if you go into settings>music>equalizer>set it to late night it really helps. I just wish apple would let users adjust the volume of the keyboard without affecting the ringer volume as well. Seems so trivial and elementary, I don't understand how this is not a feature. Literally every other manufacturer allows this. I used this method with other iPhones and it has worked. It doesn't seem to be as loud on the 12 pro though.

Partial fix of this issue:

I found a useful clip on youtube and tried it, it works at least for the lock sound by following these 3 steps:

press and release volume up

press and release volume down

press and hold lock button to power off the phone

power off the phone

restart

Not the phone lock sound intensity issue should be fixed

I just followed the above clip.

So it seems to me that the issue has something to do with the volume for media. Like normally you hit volume keys and it adjusts ringtone/text volume. I noticed that if I start google maps that she will be really quiet, and I have to turn her up while she is speaking. I don’t recall ever having to do this. So you can go into say a YouTube video, and adjust the volume there and that’ll make your maps louder.

while adjusting ringtone volume does make my typing clicks and lock button louder, it’s still got that slow build up of being quiet and getting louder as I type. It’s all just quite weird.
