iPhone 12 Pro Keyboard sounds, notifications and lock sounds volume low

i’m going to wait for the public release of 14.5, backup my phone, restore my phone to factory settings in itunes, and see if that makes any difference. if it doesnt (which i’m hoping it doesn’t because i dont want to have a phone with nothing on it) then the next time i call apple support the person i spoke to put in a note saying that the call will be transferred to a senior rep and they’ll have all the notes and everything. so then they should be able to create file for the engineering department and hopefully fix the issue…but while looking in my chat log the rep did see this forum. and he read the entire thing so… he also didn’t necessarily believe me that other people were having the issue despite it being right there lol… but ill keep you posted if you want.

I am reporting the same bug but the feedback app says “zero similar reports”

Just try this:

Set the notification volume fully up

Set the same ringtone to your text tone

For example: ringtone “Sonar” and text tone “Sonar” and tell me if you notice significant volume difference

My iPhone 8 was ok. No volume difference. Then I bought iPhone 12 mini and it had ios 14 installed with that issue.

After I’ve updated the iPhone 8 to ios 14, it had the same problem. To me is unacceptable. €850 for a phone that it should be primarily a PHONE with notifications issue.

I think they have the same notifications volume issue too but didn’t notice.

I went in two Apple store and different malls in my town and tried several iPhones 12. They all had this issue.

Ask to your friends to perform the test I’ve suggested you…if you can.

Notifications volume fully up and set the same ringtone to the text tone (I suggest Sonar which is very loud)

Try setting eq in music to late night, this worked for me on iPhone 12 Pro Max

I’ve had the same issue on my 12 mini since day one and I checked other phones on display when I bought it. The text tone volume is not loud enough. If you take the same tone that you set for text messages and also select it for ringtones you’ll clearly see the ringtone is MUCH louder...It’s NOT just an iPhone 12 issue, my wife’s iPhone 11 with iOS 14.2 is doing the same thing.

i actually have a case open with apple support. they are aware of the issue. ive sent videos and everything to prove to them that its not just me. friday theyre going to call me back and see if it got resolved with the release of ios 14.5 GM

To all the people giving tips like “turn off awareness” , “volume slider” or “Music EQ”.

Text Tone volume is too low and there is no fix for this problem

iPhone 12 owners, try this:

Set volume slider full up and assign the same ringtone to your text tone: ringtone “Sonar” and text tone “Sonar” and you’ll hear the volume difference

apple is aware of the problem. they’re working to fix it… only unfortunate thing is on ios 15 beta 1 the issue is still there… so… hopefully by the full release in september it should be fixed. until then i’ll keep sending bug reports about it to them. the amount of reports i’ve sent is kinda embarrassing…

I have iPhone 12 mini too. Text Tone volume is too low. Try this: in settings set the volume fully up and then set the same ringtone (Sonar for example) to your text tone. You will hear the difference in volume. I’ve tried this with an iPhone 8 and the issue is the same. Text Tone volume is too low.

I’ve reported this issue to Apple since I bought the iPhone 12 mini for Christmas and they don’t listen. I’ve tried every iOS from 14 to 15 and every betas. Nothing.

It’s a software problem, I think.

I often miss my messages notifications.

I will be forced to switch to Android.

it happens with my iphone 11 pro max. and when i went to the apple store they even brought out a brand new iphone 11 pro max out of the box. and we set it up as new. and it still had the same issue. so honestly don’t even waste your time.

I had the same issue

It’s a software issue I recommend u take it into Apple store to have them reset through iTunes.

I can barely hear my notification sounds despite having the volume all the way up. I tried turning off the attention feature and it didn’t help either. Anyone have suggestions? Or is this a bug that needs to be fixed?

Not sure I hope they fix it soon though

you would have to call tech support to have them walk you through iTunes,You should contact Apple support.

the more ppl complain about this issue then they will have no choice but to fix it with me iOS upgrade to fix this issue.
