iPhone 12 w/ iOS 14.1 poor hearing aid connectivity

I am sorry to hear your having the same hearing aid issues with your new ipad that the rest of us are having with our iphone12's.

However, this is actually good news. Since the ipad air does not have magsafe it's less likely a physical design issue, like say the magsafe causing interference and more likely a Bluetooth chipset issue. Hopefully fixable with a firmware upgrade very soon.

just so you know apple is aware of the problem and they are working to fix the issue.

this problem comes to my iPhone 11 Pro as well. What I have done was went to the apple store and ask about it. Then they told me the problem come to the software so the restore my software and it is fixed. Maybe it is worth to try amd hope it will help

While it's not a full fix, setting my phone to mono allows me to hear phone calls through my hearing aids.

Settings>Accessibility>Hearing>audio/visual>select mono audio.

Add my name to the list of people that's upgraded to the 14.3 beta. Working OK so far - Oticon Opn S1s. Fingers crossed!

Install 14.2.1. It works great on my Costco Re-Sounds.

Try turning off the ringer the little switch on the side. It was a bandaid fix for me has something to do with the notification tone but it worked for me

I experienced these issues when I first got my iphone 12, but the iOS 14 updates have resolved my issues

I just got my iPhone 12pro 4 days ago. The phone connects to my new Oticon hearing aids but there was immediately static in the left ear whenever I get a notification or close the phone. It’s now bounced to the right ear and is extremely annoying, to the point that I have to turn off my Bluetooth so I can use my phone peacefully. I’m at my audiologist and we called Oticon and they said they and Apple are aware of this and working on it. Guess I’ll have to wait, impatiently!!!

i stressed the importance of this in the world of hearing aid wearers!!!

The only thing I have found helpful is to go settings > accessibility > hearing devices > hearing aids > and disable streaming to either the left or the right ear. I can disable one or the other and the single hearing aid streams fine. When I enable both thats when i get connection problems in one of my hearing aids. Its never the same one. Once I disable streaming to a single hearing aid the one still enabled works fine.

Some people have said to set the output to mono and this has helped them but I have not had any luck with that trick.

If you want to try that here is how you set it. settings > accessibility > audio/visual > mono audio on.

Apple is aware o the issue and is supposedly working on a solution.

I’m also using Beta 14.3 version 2. So far seems ok. Clicking and disconnection occurred once within the first couple of minutes of playing music. Still listening 30 mins later and working seamlessly. I can also connect to sound sense learn (Widex Moment 440) and managed to create a new programme which I hadn’t been able to with 14.2.

My teenage son installed it so I can’t help I’m afraid but he just googled the procedure and managed easily. I’ll update in a couple of days......
