iPhone 12 battery drain overnight

My iphone 12 is just 2 days old and I am facing really bad battery drain overnight. I had almost 90% left for couple of days before I had gone to sleep and woke up with a remaining battery of around 65%. The battery chart has nothing for these hours. And moreover my mail push is set to manual and I had turned off wifi, bluetooth, location and mobile data. Is there something I can do to stop this?

It doesn't take much to understand that if your battery drains from 88 percent to 30 percent while IDLE and not being used in the middle of the night, that there's a problem. Doesn't take a level 10 to understand that. It's a problem that needs fixed. This entire thread is exactly about trying to SOLVE that problem. Some level 10's dismiss any discussion about it and write people off as un-intelligent because they don't agree with your bandaid approach of constantly having to plug the phone in. Is it helpful to write people off who are looking for a real solution? Does that qualify as "helping people for many years?" And I'm about to leave this forum for good, as it seems to have some level 10s that are quite dismissive of any other opinion than theirs in regards to my comments. All I got was grief from this forum, and all because I dared to want to solve a big problem with my phone. Shame on me. I should just be quiet and plug my phone in and do as the level 10s say, because they're the smart ones.

Now I have updated my phone to iOS 14.3 thinking the issue would be fixed it’s still the same. Turned off mobile data, WiFi and Bluetooth also turned on low power mode battery has drained 22% by the morning and the battery chart doesn’t show anything iPhone 12 is so bad haven’t experienced this kind of issue with any other iPhones before. Why is apple not listening to this issue

oh my. 403 users having same issues.

i was observing mine and having same. My worst event is when i woke up my phone was completely shutdown. From 30% to 0

i dont have 5g enabled sim yet. There is no app running on the background as i checked.

the only suspect i see here is i got this issue after i paired my apple watch s6. I am still not sure though.

i also read the replies. And darn, why is charging your phone a solution to some? Lol. I sleep most of the time with 50%+ on my batterry and you want me to charge it for 6-8 hrs? I dont think thats a good idea. I suggest you sleep not charging and press the “me too” when you wake up cause im sure you will be having same issue

and yes i believe this is a BUG on OS that needs fixing. FAST

I have the same issue with my iPhone 12. Recently switched to iPhone, using the 18 watt charger of the iPad Pro 2020 to charge it, no open apps, no wifi, no 5G, no anything. My previous phone, Samsung s10 was at 98% and now it’s at 93% after like 10 hours of no use. Meanwhile my iPhone 12 was 88% at 00:40 then when I woke up at 4:44 to get something to drink it was at 81% and now at almost 9 o’clock it was 74%.

I slept all the time and didn’t use the phone. I love the seamless interaction between the iPad and the iPhone, but the battery is very disappointing. I hope it’s a software issue that’ll get fixed.

I mostly only get two bars of reception in my apartment but I don’t see why that should cause it to drain that much and I don’t want to buy a phone to keep it on airplane mode. Lol.

Are you sure, and actually is there anyone who already tried the beta version?

I would imagine lots of people have tried the beta version. However, all of them signed a non-disclosure agreement when they signed up for the beta program (yes, even for the public beta) which means they're not allowed to talk about it. The Hosts will remove discussion of beta software if they're posted here in the forums.

The same thing is happening with me. I just bought iPhone 12 a week before and charging it with genuine Apple 20 watt usb-type c charger. I usually charge my cellphone before sleeping up to 100%. and unplug it before sleeping and it drains almost between 10 to 12% in a night period of 7 to 8 hours even I used it in power saving mode and internet connection via wifi instead of cellular data.

I'm also having an iphone 6 with me at 83 percent of battery health. even iphone 6 is very good in battery consumption in night time as compare to iphone 12. it drains 8 to 10 percent in a night after having 81% of battery health.

Actually it depends on your charging percentage. if your iPhone is charged 100 percent then it may reduce battery only 5 to 6 percent because iPhone 1st discharge from 100 to 99 percent takes some extra duration as compare to remaining 99 percent. if you really want to check battery consumption then I suggest you to check with remaining 90% and so on.
