iPhone 7 lagging when unlocking

Wondering if any iPhone 7 users have experienced this issue whereby the phone will lag and become very sluggish when unlocking the phone. This issue arrived when I updated to iOS 14 and I didn’t have this problem in iOS 13. After unlocking , the animations will turn off and opening apps, scrolling through your apps will be really really laggy. After about 10 second when the unlock icon at the top of the screen disappears, then everything run as usual. Please respond if anyone have faced this issue before.

Just adding my voice to the thread, had this infuriating issue on iPhone 7 since iOS 14 launched.

As someone earlier in the thread pointed out, it does seem (at least in my case) to be related to pushing the button to wake up the phone. This appears to not wake up the CPU correctly leading to a period of intense lag.

Enabling "Wake on Raise" and then raising the phone to wake it, before unlocking the phone via Touch ID works perfectly. It's important to note that pushing the button to wake still causes lag. You must raise the phone to wake it.

An awful workaround, but since Apple doesn't seem to care about the issue, it will have to do.

ı have already tried pro flash on 3u tools in DFU mode. There was no problem until evening. After hours laggings were come back. I think this problem occurs in iphone 7 (GSM) models. Which is A1778 iphone9,3. And source of the problem is other storage. When you use the phone and when your other storage increases, laggings will begin to show up.

Update: after dfu mode, lag is still there, this didn't help either, I tried everything and what I noticed that in past few days lag is start to be even worst and longer, and even start to lagging when I use the phone like working normally and then start lagging on switching between apps or keyboard lagging etc. and not just on unlocking the phone...

I faced the same problem. The first time my iPhone 7 started to lagging

after unlocking when I installed ios 14.0. Not immediately noticed, so I did not have time to roll back to stable 13.7, in which this problem was not observed. I have been trying to solve this issue for a long time, but I have not been able to find any solutions. Sorry for my English. Written with google translate

I have the A1660 model 32 Gb (US version) and I have been following the discussion and none of the given solutions works for me (Raise to wake up screen on/off; not moving screen picture/static picture; silent mode active/inactive) I think only some versions have this issue. My friend has same phone but Germany (EU version bought and 128Gb) - with no issues with phone/no lag nothing. Maybe this is the reason why there is no credibility about this issue that we have... waiting for 14.5 IOS software maybe they will fix it - but so many updates lately and nothing solved yet...

Guys after ios 14.5 update, My iPhone 7 gets a brand new bug! Auto brightness glitchs and the brightness level changes rapidly between levels, not slowly and smooth like before. And auto brightness itself doesn’t work correctly, at night the direct room lights affect it too much and rises the level to 90 or 100%, once i move my phone away and grap my phone vertically the leve drops to 10% or lower. This hurts my eyes :( !

please DO NOT update to ios 14.5

the unlock stuttering isn’t fixed and now u will receive a new bug.
