iPhone 7 lagging when unlocking

lags can be overcome in the following way - disable the touch id. lags when unlocking will disappear. apple, how many more firmwares should we wait for you to remove this bug! how much more time do you need? why did I choose your device and have to suffer? in case of mass circulation, in decent companies, they register a request for correction! hello, kuku, welcome! get the device I paid money back working for immediately!

I am seriously disappointed in Apple and its "iphone 7" I feel that it is going so bad and slow really better I would have stayed in my huawei mate 20 lite, it really was faster and better the battery

!Kavin208!, please, don't talk that the bug being fixed immediately after the update. Test it at least for a 2 days, test it in silent mode, and only after that you can say that the bug has been fixed.

Guys after ios 14.5 update, My iPhone 7 gets a brand new bug! Auto brightness glitchs and the brightness level changes rapidly between levels, not slowly and smooth like before. And auto brightness itself doesn’t work correctly, at night the direct room lights affect it too much and rises the level to 90 or 100%, once i move my phone away and grap my phone vertically the leve drops to 10% or lower. This hurts my eyes :( !

@drag_og Yup, it's fixed. I tested in silent mode as well, and it's 100% fixed. I tried locking and unlocking around 50 times, and didn't encounter the lag even once. Additionally, another improvement in 14.6 is that my battery only drained 1% overnight. I'm not sure if this is because the lag was fixed or another improvement, but great to see regardless. I'm so glad my phone's usable again.

A few hours only, but I am pretty sure that the issue is fixed. So far I could always reproduce the issue immediately after each iOS updates, iOS 14.5.1 is the first version where I see no lag at all. I have tried 70-80 times in the past few hours, and it works perfectly for me.

IPhone 7 256GB. It seems that in 14.5.1 the bug has gone away. Testing it for 2nd day, everything is ok. Silent mode, w/without charging, w/without “raise to wake”. I guess next time I wouldn’t be upgrade firmware at least for a few months to avoid bugs like that)

I can confirm the issue is solved totally with ios 14.5.1 update. Tested hundreds of times for the last 24hrs with “Today view” and silent mode is on as well, and alot of apps running in the background too. Zero lag! Every thing is Ok now.

It’s there yet on my iPhone 7 using iOS 14.5.1 soon as I restart the phone or shutdown and on it lags pressing the power button for few times helps the lag go away. I’m really annoyed and also the internet speed is too slow network goes away and keeps searching for long time on phone start.

while charging this doesn’t happen but that’s ridiculous one doesn’t need to always keep charging the phone to get rid of this ? iPhones are pretty expensive fixes are lame

touch again where the model comes out there you will get other numbers, for example mine is the A1660 (when you copy the model number, touch there again so that you get the model that has an A at the beginning

I have heard that the A1778 version is worse than the A1660 they have another wireless chip, supposedly the A1660 have a Qualcomm chip and the A1778 have an INTEL chip and heard that the A1778 is slower than the A1660 :(

This is obviously apple pushing their users for high end iPhones no use of reporting or creating discussion topics. Really sorry including me and other iPhone 7 users apple is demanding you to purchase iPhone 11 and beyond.

I can confirm as well. It seems the lag is fixed in iOS 14.5.1 but it’s been only couple of hours since I’ve installed this update. (Yes, I installed this update today even though it was released 8 days ago.)

I’ll keep monitoring for few days & keep you guys updated.

For those who are still facing this problem, it can’t be possible but we never know. I would suggest keep sending feedback to apple regarding this.
