iPhone 12 screen brightness issue

My iPhone case was purchased from Apple too. I really wasted so much money by buying iPhone 12 Pro and the case. Significant inconvenience is faced every time the screen brightness is completely lost for days to weeks. Apple has not taken an action although I have requested a replacement or effective repair for several times.

It always happens indoors. The temperature could be around 20-23 degree Celsius. Apple should come and read this forum. When I made a complaint the Apple staff said he never heard this issue with iPhone 12. If you are part of Apple let your company know what we are suffering with ~Au$2000 product.

I completely agree! My issue is that Apple are ignoring everyone, denying there’s an issue when you go into a store and saying they’ve never heard of it, which is obviously untrue. I have had Apple phones since day one, iPads, Apple watches and this is the first time ever that I have considered looking elsewhere for a phone. Sad times and poor service by Apple.

Have YOU even read that WE have all done every single "fix" and have had them done with customer support in person, over the phone, numerous times, complete phone replacements, and under all conditions. Indoors, outdoors, under sunlight, in the dark, during light usage, during heavy usage, etc. We are all here discussing for a long time and you have no answer for something you did not bother investigating the issue of.

I returned mine last week for a refund and bought another , it's doing exactly the same so it's going back tomorrow and I'm just going to wait for the iPhone 13 now and have bought a cheap 10 to last me a couple of month , not ideal I know but it's my only option atm :(

.Gets significantly darker without any reason (brightness settings are all max and manual with True Tone disabled). If I go to the brightness menu settings still brightness is at max level but I cannot restore brightness at this level and the screen is significantly darker

90 degrees. 5 minutes — to the garden and back to take a specific picture of my tomato. Yes, a picture on a sunny day. But if these phones won’t allow a sunny-day picture, the camera may not useful for outdoor photography. I bought the 12 (and the 11) for the good camera when hiking and lake outings.

Because the 11 pro max and the 12 pro max have the same screen , they are the problem and cause overheating. They need to go back to the IPS LCD the 11 not 11 pro max can be in 100 Degrees full sun never have a problem the XDR OLED is clearly the problem !!

FYI - I don't have a pro MAX -- it is just a 11Pro... But today it did dim to a black screen and got very hot to the touch.. it was only 90 degrees outside and I was out only about 5 minutes.. . this is so baffling........

I have switched off ALL FEATURES on display and text size and MINE STILL turns dark, even though it is 100% full of charge as well as 100% turned on FULL Brightness!!! What is going on with this on the IPhone12????? You know it’s really annoying having to read an email for work while away from home or my Mac and then your dang phone turning dark every time you actually need it to read!!!

Apple hopefully will recognize that is is a defect and work with us on a upgrade to 13 , my phone is completely useless in the sun outdoors can’t even take pictures :((( they promote nite camera tv commercial but I take pictures in day outside and I can’t it dims on me !!!

Good for you telling it like it is and suggesting more tweaks.. I downgraded to the 11Pro after seeking help and getting a replacement 12, and losing $$ with a trade in…. I’m keeping all my paperwork ..

Purchased the Apple iPhone pro in June and the screen gets significantly darker on tapping the screen it clears although on using the iPhone 11 for the same call the clarity was much better with no issues ;(

Mine went black and it was not usable for anything involving the screen - taking pictures, reading emails, using maps, searching on internet. Black.. not dimmed. Black. And within just a few minutes of exposure to sunlight…

Good summary…. Unfortunately 14pages of comments and suggestions and all the service calls to Apple and even new replacements have not solved the issue. Is there a solution to this current model ? Many have suggested Apple making design changes but would that be to the next series? Not seeing any resolution for unhappy users if 12’s because it is so wide-spread and would be extremely costly..
