Unfortunately, I do not see that happening. These widgets are not interactable, so having a calculator widget would be useless. That is definitely unfortunate, but I've been using spotlight search most of the time anyways since it is faster for me.

I agree. The best solution I found is to download any calculator you like from the App Store and then once the app is open select to Keep in Dock. That way it is always there visible and easily accessible.

Think of these widgets as "Live Stickers". They are not interactable. Having a calculator widget that you can't interact with would be pointless.

Just found the work-around to use spotlight search (cmd+space) or dashboard. But need to get used to the change...

With a macro app like Keyboard Maestro you can set key combinations to open apps, If you have your keyboard setup so the F keys are not active, i.e. you need to use the Fn key with the F key to get the desired feature to work, you can setup an F key to open the Calculator app.

Go to the App Store and search for "keyboard shortcuts" for a list of potential candidates. It'll be much quicker than going to the widgets.

I have opened a software bug ID8905925. I am sure developers forgot to turn it on in production.

It was the only and most useful widget albite crippled in Catalina as it did not hold results for long as it did in previous OS versions.

Same here. Really miss having the calculator on the side bar to slide out and use. Big disappointment it is not there.

You can do that... Open the Calculator, go to View, Cientific.

Completely agree, Apple has gone on a streak of removing functionalities that were nothing but convenient in the name of .. I'm honestly not even sure.

If I can customize the control menu on my iPhone to have access to calculator, for example, why wouldn't I be able to on Mac? Why update it if you're not going meet the standards you've set yourself!? So annoying.

First thing I looked for - how to put my calculator back? Oh - I can't :(

There are some things you got right very early on - please keep a hold of those little things that make life easier

I used the calculator every time I opened my Mac. PCalc is a 14 CAD app!! I can buy a calculator cheaper in a local store. Very sad that Apple didn't take into consideration usage of its apps in this redesign.
